CacheManyHose (734) - HONG KONG - AUG 18, 2017
Pours an opaque dark brown-black with a thin caramel brown creamy head. Smells of coffee beans, chalky chocolate, dark burnt malt, light sweetish fig, stony and inky and somewhat herbal, ash, light wood, booze. Taste is of very dark roasted malt, deep plum, very bitter, sharp slightly syrupy finish. Body is thick, sticky, dark. Incredibly good.

HKdIPA (817) - HONG KONG - AUG 18, 2017
Bottle from Brewcraft at home. Dark dark brown-black pour with fine dark coffee tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate with rich dark fruit, some faint savory/soy. Delicious. Taste is sharp boozy bitterness with chocolate, leather, some sweet dark fruit too. Rich and smooth palate. Excellent. Bright and bitter for an imperial stout. Lingering boozy bitter warmth. Definitely get again.

Terrific chocolate and coffee notes. Slightly milky and a little sweet on the palate. Tons of chocolate swiftly moves over the palate. Dark and intense.

colui72 (1056) - HONG KONG - AUG 1, 2017
Pours deep black, with a dark brown head and some excellent lacing. Aroma of roasted dark malts, dark chocolate and dark fruits. This heart of darkness continues in its taste, with burnt caramel bitterness, very roasty, dark fruits and dark chocolate, no much feel of alcohol. Bitter, full body, thick feel, oily, soft carbonation, long bitter finish. Classic Imperial stout, close to perfection. And dark, very dark.

Keg at The Buxton Tap House. A black colour with a medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, cocoa some charcoal, subtle dark fruits and slight spice. Taste of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, cocoa, some charcoal, slight burnt caramel, a little wood and subtle dark fruits. Full bodied and moderate carbonation. A long, dry, burnt malt bitterness in the finish. The best beers Buxton do are stouts and porters in my opinion. Full on roastiness, cocoa and subtle sweetness. No alcohol in sight (or taste) This is my kind of Stout.

Bottle from Merchants. Aroma is roasty, dark chocolate, dark fruit, slight booze, coffee. Appearance is dark dark brown, light brown head, poured thinnish. Taste is roasted malt, robust, dark chocolate, dark fruit, slight booze, pretty bitter. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy body, light carbonation, robust roasted malt bitter aftertaste. Overall, tons of flavor in this one, though some balance to the bitterness would have done it well.
