[ As my rating # 5000 of beers from England on ratebeer ]. Clear dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, light caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, grapefruit, orange - citrus, pine. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, hoppy, licorice. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Opaque black - brown beer with a tidy pale tan head. Dry palate. Dry dark malt, slightly bitter. Brief hit of orange citrus before bitter pine takes over. Dry finish. Okay if a bit dry. There are much better Black IPAs around.
