bottle. black. initially a very, nice grapefruity citrus, fresh currants and gooseberries, hoppy bouquet, which actually lasts for a while. turns piny though, and roasty. full bodied, smooth. roasted malts, licorice. dark berries, violets. with the lingering fruity citrus in the finish. drinkable and nice. a bit too clean almost.AshtonMcCobb (6604) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 3, 2017
Bottle from Hanging Bat.
Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head.
Nose - wafts of canned oranges and apples on opening. A general expansion into fruit salad by the time the pour has finished. On closer inspection add some resin and molasses.
Taste - more fruit salad intermingled with molasses, dark chocolate and toffee. Marmalade. Lime taper on the finish.
Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish.
Overall - great stuff. A very narrow style to get right but this was nailed. First 4 of 2017. Countbeer (6592) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - MAR 27, 2015
Bottle (33cl): Served in a shaker at 13 degrees Celsius:
Medium sized beige head. Deep dark black brown beer.
Aroma is incredible yet smooth and not exaggerated hoppy with some nice roasty tones. Very well balanced!
Flavour is more or less the same as the aroma but than with more fruit, bitters, resin, some sweets, little pine tones and floral tones.
Aftertaste is a mix of bitters, herbal and floral tones, light grassy, very hoppy and a toast sprinkle.
Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, more than medium bodied.
Serious delicious beer! MichaelAwesome (6519) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - JUN 16, 2014
Not a bad one but also not relly hitting what I like. Thick, strong with some coffee and roasted malt. Classy classic. Beer5000 (6489) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 12, 2014
330 ml bottle. Dark brown body, almost black with a beige head. Nice aroma with citric fruit, pine and some roasted malt. Flavor is refreshing fruity, some pine, dark malt, light roasted and decent bitterness. Medium body and OK aftertaste. Quite nice and smooth, but a bit on the safer side and actually rather standard black IPA.

Bottle: Poured a dark black color ale with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of roasted malt with super nice notes of green hops with light piney notes. Taste is also dominated by deep roasted malt notes with some fresh green hops notes is really enjoyable. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Superb balance between green hoppy notes with some lightly roasted malt notes. I wish this beer was available locally on a regular basis. Zita (6325) - Assentoft, DENMARK - MAY 8, 2013
