Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; pours dark black with a thin beige head, pine hop in the aroma, has a big hop taste with a background of roast chocolate malts. Dry finish, this is really good.

Flaske 330ml fra Vinmomopolet Tromsø Langnes. Kullsvart. Høyt tett skum med litt farge. Varer. Kniplingslacing. Litt dempet fruktig aroma. Overmoden banan. Smaken frisk syrlig. På grensen til pepper. Avslutter tørt.

Backlog rating. Bottle in London. It pours a deep amber-brown color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is earthy and malty with notes of pines needles, dried leaves and cut grass. Taste is malty with some caramel, earthy notes and piney hops and resin. Quite full bodied with medium carbonation. Overall, a good take on the style

(Rating #5864)

500 ml bottle conditioned, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.5%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Lovely aroma of citrussy hops, on a background of moderately roasted malts, hints of dark chocolate. The medium dry flavour has again citrussy hops, blended with distinct roasted malts, notes of strong coffee, dark bitter chocolate and resin. The contradictory "Black IPA" style is beginning to grow on me, and this one is a fine specimen.

[Bottle (500ml)] Pours a very dark amber-brown with a large mostly-lasting rocky tan head and lots of lacing. Aroma has a surprising, in a good way, amount of hops along with malt and some coffee -- mostly just hops though. (Surprising because I didn’t realize this was a Black IPA) Flavour is also really hoppy along with some roasted malt, coffee and a long moderate hoppy finish. Medium bodied. Really good, I need to get more.

500 ml bottle @ Gastropub Praha, Tampere.
Pours a black colour with an off-white head. Aroma of lovely floral hops, citrus and some maltiness. Flavour of roasted malts, strong floral hops, citrus, mandarin orange and exotic fruitiness. Medium bodied, silky smooth mouthfeel and a smooth, roasty and nicely bitter finish. Really well balanced. Delicious.
