On cask at The Stockbridge Tap. Pours a dark golden colour with a thick beige head. Aroma of pine, grassy hops, caramel, yeast and alcohol. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Nicely bitter and quite yeasty. BeerCast_Rich (1906) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 7, 2012
[cask at the Stockbridge Tap, Edinburgh] Pours deep orange brown. Floral aroma. First taste is melon, then it leads into bitter grassy hops, roasted chocolate and a leathery dryness. Quite tannic on the finish – more an ESB than a golden ale. Great stuff, however – love the way the flavour switches from fruit to bitter roast Borresteijn (7174) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - JUN 5, 2012
50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Slightly hazy golden orange colour, dense white head. Aroma of bitter jelly, grapefruit, citrus, hint of sulphur, light sweet floral notes. Flavour is light sweet, light dry malty, straw, floral, grapefruit bitter and floral hoppy finish with a bit of earth/liquorice root powder. Light bodied, soft mouthfeel. Great thirstquencher, and another really good Buxton beer. rondphoto (4455) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - MAY 25, 2012
Cloudy medium amber with a good head covering and splashes of lace. The flavor isn’t typical English Golden Ale. There is malt, but it hardly matters as it is immediately overtaken by assertive hops. It falls short of IPA status because the bitter fades to water quickly at the end. A decent beer with food, improved status with so much flavor in a 4.3%abv. Good with pizza (laboratory tested in my tv room).
