3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle (Bacchanalia, Cambridge)
Lovely soft sweet smoky aroma, some smoked sausage in it. Smooth and full in the mouth, pleasant carbonation. Lovely full roasty body. Smokiness very nice, but I do also see the band-haid phenolic aspect too. Really no sign of 7% at all, superbly drinkable. It could easily be 4.5%. Like the tarry finnish, and though it may be slightly acidic, all I want to do is to drink more of this beer.
On tap. Old note. The aroma has peat, chocolate, roast. Black coloured beer with a beige head. The taste is ligh-moderate bitter, has chocolate, roast, iodine/peat/smoke, some caramel. Nice one. rlgk (18850) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - FEB 27, 2016
Bottle shared with Chris and Ruth in London. Clear dark amber beer with a decent beige head. Roasted chocolate aroma, some smoke, caramel, vanilla notes, a bit floral. Chocolate and vanilla aroma, caramel, some smoke, fruity, some vanilla. Decent. Fin (10621) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 30, 2015
Bottle picked up from De Molen brewery (poss last year?) consumed at home Thursday 29th October 2015. Pours black with a light beige head. I usually avoid these beers but as it was Buxton I couldn’t refuse. Smokey nose as expected, peaty and bonfire residude. Taste is peaty, roasty and smoke, burnt plastic and ash a little fruit and hop tries to show and it finishes dry. Not really my thing but done better than many others of this ilk. A small taste @ Gallows Bird. Pours very dark brown with a low head. Aroma is loads of smoke and peat. Flavor is roasted malts and plenty of smoke. A bit light, but not bad.

Bottle @ home, from De Molen.
Lovely smokey, peaty, flavourful porter. So many things going on, but very well balanced. Dry smoke prevails, can't fault it. Lovely. Beerhunter111 (21515) - P´Castle, GERMANY - FEB 15, 2015
