bottle from cotteridge wines. was looking forward to this but was ultimately dissapointed. initial aroma wasnt bad, typical pine and fruity stuff with hint of caramel coming through. dark amber with small head. i just thought there was far to much going on in the taste department. your usual suspects, toffee malts and juicy fruits were there but then this strange almost vegetable flavour came through and sort of ruined it for me. there was a good amount of bitterness going down as you would expect from a DIPA. overall it wasnt bad, i’ve tasted much worse, but just wassnt at all as good as i had expected.

colui72 (1029) - HONG KONG - JUL 22, 2017
Pours hazy golden / orange, with a finger of white head and creamy sticky lacing. Piney to the nose, with notes of ale malts, citrus and tropical fruits. Strong bitterness on the attack, then caramel, resin, pine, grapefruit, mango and again a long bitter finish. Creamy, full body, soft carbonation, an excellent DIPA full of flavour.

9%ABV. Double IPA. Poured out amber. 14 SRM. Nose has ripe pineapple, malty sweet funk. Mouthfeel is soapy. Palate has a sweet sour roundedness to it that suggests fruitiness. Malt palate is honey grahams. Hops: resin, pine sap, pine needles, strong resin and bitter melon. Finish is medium-long and bitter melon. Goes on favorites list!
