Bottle at De Kromme Haring. Black / beige. Roasted malts, coffee , liquorice, a bit boozy. Medium bodied, low carbonation. Finish is fairly sweet. Pretty ok.

Gerbeer (4289) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 5, 2018
330 ml bottle. Pours jet black with moderate tan head. Aromas of oaky whisky barrel, black coffee and roasted malts. Flavors of lively clean whiskey with a little peat, dark chocolate, dry black coffee, and slick roasted malts. A great tasty Arran iteration. Not overkill. Well done.

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2018 Puur zwart met compacte mokkakleurige schuimkraag die langzaamaan inzakt. Milde turf, rook, leer, tabak, barrel. Licht plakkerig in de mond met een zacht rokerige afdronk. Perfect in balans. Pracht van een bier.

Cerveza Imperial Stout muy buena, de cuerpo denso y casi sin espuma. Su olor es muy alcohólico pero de sabor muy suave y fácil de beber

rouhlas (4055) - Thessaloniki, GREECE - JAN 7, 2018
330 ml bottle thanks to Giannis. Black color with small brown head. Malty aroma, roasted, smoked, peat, iodine notes, chocolate, light coffee and licorice, cocoa, dark dried fruits, wood, alcohol. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Medium to full oily silky body with soft carbonation.

chimayx (149) - FRANCE - DEC 30, 2017

hrabren (2047) - Zagreb, CROATIA - DEC 26, 2017
0.33 l bottle from Edinburgh. Shared at a drinking session with Višnja 666 and Pilot Goran in the summer of 2017. Thanks a lot for bringing this all the way here! Black with a small brown head. Very strong aroma, brandy or whiskey, some whiskey barrel aroma and some fruits. Sweet with dryness from whiskey barrel developing. Medium body, alcohol hidden, lasting finish.

allmyvinyl (11394) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 26, 2017
Bottle from the Brewery online shop. Pours oily black with a thin brown head. Aromas of dark chocolate, vanilla, wood, tar, molasses. Taste is rich, dark chocolate, a hint of whiskey, leather and burnt raisins. Lovely stuff, well judged.

pivnizub (11002) - Bochum, GERMANY - DEC 14, 2017
Bottle (Bermondsey Bottle Shop): Literally black, small stable ruby-beige head; solid sweet-bitter aroma of molasses, dried fruits, vanilla and wood and chocolate with an ashy touch; solid sweet-bitter flavour, silky MF, full bodied as expected; solid port-vinous and toasty finish with a slight alcohol-burn in the aftertaste. Wow, what a fine winter-warmer...

EdKing (2700) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 24, 2017
Bottle from Hop, Burns & Black. Opaque very dark brown to black with a thin to medium chocolate brown tan head. Nose is fruity, dark fruits, lots of vanilla, sweetness from the whisky, dark chocolate, aged wood, . Taste is big and bold flavours. Dark chocolate, ground coffee, very dry, vanilla, softening to dark fruits, aged wood, whisky notes, boozy, roasted malt, hints of licorice, raisins. Very nice, possibly the dryer coffee and roasted malt notes slightly too strong for me.

langeveld12 (607) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 10, 2017
UPDATED: NOV 10, 2017 I love the balance in this beer. Arran is clearly there but not over powering and adding to the complexity. There's caramel, coffee, chocolate, red and forest fruIts, sweet fruits, oak, whiskey. Sweet, sour and bitter in balance. Very good!
