Strong roasted dark malts, bourbon, oak, vanilla, mild coffee, dark chocolate. Wonderful mouthfeel, full bodied and creamy, very soft carbonation. Long finish. 330ml bottle. Jet black colour with small to average, thick, creamy, fairly lasting and lacing, beige to tan head. With opening the bottle an instantaneous dissemination of intense Bourbon flavours takes place, notes of vanilla, oak, treacle and molasses fill the air. Taste is sweet-ish dark malty, notes of vanilla, oak, treacle, some dark chocolate, a touch of liquorice, molasses, roasted nuts; full body, smooth, soft and silky palate. Nice light brown slightly bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry roasted, dark malts, dark sugar, licorice, coffee, grass, minerals, alcohol, chocolate, burnt caramel, weeds. Taste is slightly rich and dry, dark malts, grass, weeds, alcohol, oak, licorice, coffee, bark, weeds, roasted grain. Medium bitterness, slightly sour-ish dry mouthfeel. Nice.
Intensywny aromat dębiny, wanilli i kawy, gorzka czekolada, aż wykręca język, sporo kawy, beczka po bourbonie raczej w tle, gęste, oleiste, alkohol świetnie ukryty, długi aftertaste pozostawia posmak kokosa na języku. Bottle from Hop Burns & Black. Opaque black out of the bottle tan brown medium creamy head. Nose is sweet oak wood, spicy oak, vanilla oak, bourbon soaked oak, dark chocolate, Marmite yeast extract, black sugar, syrup, roasted malt. Very solid nose. Taste... oh this is special. I’ve had this for about six months... silky super rich dark chocolate, cocoa dust, syrupy chocolate. The oak, vanilla and bourbon is really nice and subtle. Roasted malts. Super smooth and silky. I think this is the best UK bourbon barrel aged beer I’ve had and it blows away most American cloying bourbon barrel aged bombs. Tap at Ratebeer Best. Pours a very dark brown with medium tan head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is roast, wood, vanilla, dark fruit, chocolate, bourbon. Medium body, strong wood, vanilla, roast, nice booze finish, very nice.
