From old tasting notes. Brassy gold color. Thick creamy head. Perfumy sweet toasted malt nose. Soft fruity malt palate with a nice creamy mouthfeel. Very tasty with a spicy hop finish. bulldogops (2874) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 20, 2016
Rating #2175 - 2015.11.14 - Draught at Bottlescrew’s. Clear copper/amber colour, nice white foam. Taste is pretty bland, Aroma is sweet, caramel. A beer bar with a bottle list this decent should just abandon this. BeerandBlues2 (14063) - Escondido, California, USA - MAY 7, 2013
Tap at Bottlescrew Bill’s Old English Pub. Pours clear copper with a medium, frothy off-white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is honey and cookie malt, dates, apples, and woody hops. Flavor is malty with light hops and bitterness, light fruity esters and a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation. This rating is just for info purposes, it is a rating of the "original" Buzzard’s Breath Ale, sampled in Dec, 1989
"Pale amber, small fast fading beige head.. Nearly neutral nose, just a whiff of pale malt. Not much here flavor wise but it is an easy drinking transition beer with a mellow malt profile. " rosenbergh (11957) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 23, 2010

Clear deep golden colour with small off-white head.
Sweetish caramel and dry fruity bitterish hops.
Fruity tea-like hops and grainy malt in flavour. Lasting bitter aftertaste. Fresh and rather tasty Ale.

At the pub they say it’s brewed by Wild Rose…?
Hazy amber color. A light aroma of wheat crackers. Ordinary Ale, but quite easy to drink.
Brewed especially for Bottlescrew Bills by Wild Rose Brewing Co. in calgary. This is a great beer. Pours a dark amber brown colour with a large frothy head. A distinctive roasted malts flavour with caramel and toffee. Tastes sweet and crisp. An unusual mouthfeel and slightly unpleasant aftertaste are present inhibited me from ordering another one. presario (4925) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 5, 2006
Waitress confirmed that this is now brewed by Wild Rose despite it’s beginnings at Big Rock. Dark amber. Fair foam head. So many aromas at Bottlescrew’s that it is hard to pinpoint those from the beer. Malty body is a decent base. Strong intriguing sour hop flavours front to back. As a hop lover I want more hops and am indecissive about the sour hop flavour. It is also a touch syrupy. The more I drink the less I want to finish it or order another.
