COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our attitudinal, dark and very hoppy ale is back in stock. Brewed with two rich caramel malts and a special, limited supply black malt and then hopped with a single hop: the amazing ranch-grown Palisade (including dry-hop). You might consider inviting a Swamp Yankee home for the holidays.

22oz bottle dated 12/16, shared by John. Thanks! Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is chocolate and pine. Flavor is chocolate, overextracted coffee, pine. Strong pine bitterness and charred oak in the finish.

Mild spice pine malt aroma. Rich deep brown body with a light tan head. Rich malt bitterness with a hint of roast coffee. Medium bodied. Bold but yet dry in the finish. Enjoyable.

Pours a dark brown with a milkshake-y off-white head. Burnt, but not smoky, malt aroma. Not terribly hoppy IMHO, certainly doesn’t taste dry-hopped, but not bad. Just not good either.

Got in a BIF from ZebraCakez. 22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, bottled in 11/2014. Pours crystal clear reddish brown color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, herbal, floral, grass, pine, light char, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, herbal, floral, grass, pine, light char, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Good amount of herbal/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, pine, herbal, floral, grass, light char, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness, balance, and complexity of dark/roasted malt and earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with and very smooth, moderately crisp/sticky, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good earthy hopped black IPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Pours a brown color with a super thick off white head. Aroma is of the famous Westport malts, some grain, bark, and hops. Flavor is similar. A little on the dryer side. Leaves a woody hop finish. It’s always nice to support the local brewery.
