A stylish and indulgent contemporary creation. A wealth of ideas and techniques have been poured into the making of beer. It has influences from traditional and new world brewing, with a nicely balanced rich body cut with notions of citrus and a development of spice. A more-ish beer full of character and zest. This is the Horns respectfully doffing our caps, to both the classic European and New World brewing techniques.

Half-pint, cask, shared with Finn at Southampton Arms. A headless, cloudy orange body coloured beer. Tart-sweet aroma. Taste of oranges, mid-sweet, and subdued yeasty fruitiness. A not-too-sweet weizen (London, 06.11.2012).

[330ml bottle, Drinkmonger, Edinburgh] Opaque peach-coloured pour, thin rim of bubbles around the glass. Aroma is tart yeast, wheat and sherbet lemon. Yeasty, herbal, lemon rind on the flavour, before the finish verges on the acrid. Not sure the yeastyness is helping, but there’s a good beer in there somewhere [26102012]

Cask conditioned handpump Southampton Arms London 08/09/12. A very hazy yellow coloured beer with a whitish head and lacing. A zesty wheaty aroma and taste. A decent body. Good flavours in this. Tasty and surpassed my expectations.

Gravicask (PBBF2012, Tuesday)
6 Slightly peachy perfumed aroma. Peaches and cream.
4 Rich peachy colour, tiny head, lots of lacing.
6 Perhaps too peachy - again, peaches and cream
4 Full and smooth. Nice hoppy fruity finish - a good bite.
13- Quirky and curious, but I do like it.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, Kentish Town - 20/04/12. Hazy golden with a small white head. Wheat and citrus nose which also lends to the taste with a touch of spice in there allied to yeast. Medium bodied, dry finish - ok.

Cask at Windsor Locale beer festival 2012. A hazy golden coloured pour with a small white head on top. Yeasty, fruity aroma. Tastes yeasty, malty, spice, tropical fruit, lemon. Not bad but lacking complexity.

Hazy blond colour. Aroma has some orange zest and soap. Quite a juicy feeling beer with a taste of bitter orange syrup.

Bottle, brought home from Utobeer, London. A true gusher. Pours an unclear gold with a greyish shade. Low off-white top. Yeasty aroma with notes of ripe yellow fruits and coriander. Soft wheaty malt body. Sweet, ripe citrus fruit-flavor. Gently hopped. Spice tones in the flavor as well. Feels quite full. Finishes sweet fruity.

[email protected] Beer Festival 2012. Hazy golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is wheat, quite zesty and a bit tropical fruity notes with mild yeastyness. Flavour is rather similar in a nice balance, mild-not-too-sweet toffeeish notes are also lurking in there. Balanced and pleasant.
