A big bold, in your face, malty beer! A touch of sweetness to start, nuttiness to follow and hoppy-ness to finish. Give it a little time and let this beer develop and tantalise those taste buds with its powerful and delectable kick of Willamette hops. A complex copper coloured fusion of distinction. There’s a lot going on with this cheeky little beer, so take your time and sup it up.

Beese (3289) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 5, 2014
Gravity at the Battersea Beer Festival 2013. Poured a hazy dark ruby colour, with a thin, off-white head. Aroma of blackcurrant, bready malt and caramel. Grassy hop in the flavour, with some berries and pastry. Finish was biscuity malt, some resin and straw.

En cask au Willam Morris: Des malts étoffés, riches avec une amertume franche légèrement florale.

Cask at JDWs in Surbiton. Rich malt, some caramel, piny hops and balanced with a touch of smokiness and forest fruits. Nice beer.

Bottle @ Kings Day Tasting 2014 shared by Dutchdrebus. Slightly unclear autumn reddish color, full sized off-white head. Aroma is fresh, piney, spruce, hops. Taste lightly malty, hoppy, very nice piney flavor, spruce, freshly cut wood, a superb smooth bitterness and a touch of caramel. Medium body, soft yet suitable carbonation. Very nice!! Would drink this on a regular basis if it were available around here. Impressive stuff.

Cask-conditioned at the Barley Mow, 9/4/2014. Deep amber with a decent, off-white head. Sweetish, caramel, berry fruits and orange peel, with some decent hops in the finish. Good.

Cask in the Kings Head W2. Deepish red brown colour. Slightly murky, white head. Strong fresh hop characterplus toasty amber malts. If this were American would clearly be an amber ale. Good combination lf bitter hoppy fruitiness and solid malts. A nice modern beer.

Cask, handpump at The Parcel Yard, Kings Cross Station, London, Wednesday 26th March 2014 Pours a reddy/brown colour with a off-white creamy head. This is an excellent ESB its tangy, fruity yet with a pleasant little seam of hops, really good beer. Nice malty character throughout, fresh and very, very moreish. I don’t see so many really good ESB’s these days but in a changing beer world with more golden hoppy beers coming to the fore here is a very good example. I reckon Steve Silktork would really like this beer! A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Aroma: light caramel malts, some fruits, bit grassy. Appearance: dark amber, small white head. Taste: light bitter. Palate: getting very bitter very quickly Overall: OK ESB, maybe a bit too bitter for me. Pint at the Cat & Canary, Canary Wharf.

thewolf (12932) - Kolding, DENMARK - MAR 21, 2014
Bottle. Thanks bigbro. Pours clear red to chestnut with a large, staying, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has caramel, red berries, mild chocolate. Medium to low carbonation, fine dry and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has good crisp malts, chocolate, red berries, a bit grainy. Quite bitter lingering finish. A bit of yeasty off-notes. Good though.
