A truly London Bitter brewed in the most traditional way. This best bitter is brewed with British Malt, Yeast and Hops, with London water, passion and heritage. Very rarely do we make a true British beer, but here it is.

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2017 By the Horns The Mayor of Garrett, 4.3% - on tap at the GBBF at Kensington Olympia, 2017. Clear bright amber. Malty aroma of fig, brown bread, yeast. Moderately bitter at first, with grapes and floral hops. Finish is rather bitter, with a mild fruity note, lasting bitter finish. Typical BB, not bad.

Cask-conditioned at the Cornubia, Bristol 18/7/2016. Deep amber in colour, with a frothy, off-white, head. Aroma of red berries, hedgerow hops and earthy malts. Flavour was similar, with flabby malts, sweet fruit and a moderately bitter finish. Ok.

Cask at The Railway, Putney. Clear amber orange, still, small foamy white head, full lacing. Aroma is tangerine and cardboard. Body is medium, smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is resin, glue, softly flowery, cardboard, citrus, musty linger. Enjoyable bitter. Nice condition.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Deeper golden coloured with a small head. Hops with some caramel-toffee malt involved. Has a fuller body with a low bitterness.

Cask at the Princess of Wales, London. It pours amber with a small beige head. Aroma is medium sweet with notes of toffee, apricots, grains and grass. taste is medium sweet with toffee, licorice, citrus and hay. Light body and soft carbonation. Decent bitter

Cask conditioned handpump Oxford London 19/09/14. A brown beer with an off-white head. A sweet and fruity bitter. Served too warm not allowing flavour development. A decent body but a bit sickly and there is some acidity in the nose.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2017 Re-rate on 11 Aug 2017. Cask at the Volunteers Arms, GBBF. Pours clear mid brown with a thin white head. Aroma of malt and caramel. Not much taste. Bitter finish. Not as bad as below but still not great. Cask at the King’s Tun, Kingston upon Thames. Pours mid brown with a white head. Toffee caramel aroma. A bit grassy and sharp. Maybe this is no right but comment below also noted sharpness.
