Bottled 04/09/13. A brown beer with a thick white head. Heavy carbonation. Quite yeasty in a Belgian way. Sweet fruity moussey edges. Flavoursome but not tasting 7.5%. Nice. johndoughty (5521) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - JAN 30, 2013
Bottle. Bronze and lively upon opening. Poured with a medium head. Spicy flavour dominates and liners for some time. Hops are in the background. One worth trying. DruncanVeasey (8260) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JUN 9, 2012
330ml bottle split with Octo after work, watching the embarrassing shambles that was the Jubilee concert. Here’s a beer in commemoration of an historical event that actually meant something. Dusky bronze with fine beige collar. Good tangy aroma that’s got me interested straight away; orange barley sweets, Campino, booze at the bottom of a trifle, orange liqueur, fig stickiness. Doesn’t disappoint with a finely balanced flavour in the Fuller’s Vintage vein; orange jelly with a slug of cointreau, slight floweriness and peach, robust hop bitterness, well-packed malts with some US IPA-like sweetness and a touch of husk. Scoop of Bennett, launch of Houchen, bobble of Gary Mabbut’s knee. Slightly hot and bitter- would improve with time, but good enough right now.
