THIS IS A COLLABORATION OF 13 QUÉBÉCOIS BREWERS.

750ml bottle from Broue Ha Ha - collaboration brew of 13 Quebec breweries that was brewed at Charlevoix, possibly as part of a series promoting Quebec brewing. Pale orange with a billowy and airy white head that eventually settles down. Grain forward, light spices, dry, light farmhouse and straw, some malt sweetness. High carbonation with a nice body; bittersweet, bit of alcohol, grainy and straw with light grass, becomes dry and more bitter on the finish although you get a huge dose of underlying caramel malts as well. Worth trying.

750 ml bottle purchased at Peluso in Montreal on August 2, 2012. Blonde straw, big head. Dry hopped aroma of citrus, hints of céréal. Dry taste citrus sourness, well hopped, dry bitterness. A good dry saison, not very tasty but it drinks well!

My Bottom Line :
Peppery, lemony and herbal aromatics perform acrobatically within a frothy, airy mouthfeel for a colourful drinking experience.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A substantial head of foam rests atop the misty golden shine, lacing nicely.
-This is not your usual Saison (hello Labrador tea and super citrusy hops!), so it’s going to get ’love or hate’ reviews, I’m sure. It is impeccably rendered though, so bad reviews can only speak about the rater himself, I believe.
-Either Citra was used here, or lemon verbena.
-It’s hard to dissociate the hops from the spices, which is great thing imho.
-The spicy hop bitterness is compelling.
-The mouthfeel is super soft.
-There is a light cereal contribution flavor-wise.
-Yeast is perfectly dispersed throughout the bottle, creating but a fine veil throughout. There is no sludge at all at the bottom of the bottle.
-The yeast adds a few mushroom-y accents here and there.

pours hazy bright medium dark golden with a foamy white head, very good retention and lacing. aroma is very herbal, sugary malts, plenty of cereals. light toasted malts, bready, medium hopping - herbal yet citrusy, lively, medium body, nice labrador tea grapefruity finish. excellent brew!

Bottle 750ml. Pours blond with high white head. Some lacing. Aroma is sweet, citrus, fruits, spices. Taste is acidic, sweet, fruits, weirdness. Overall: Good body. It seems the beer doesnt follow certain rules, wich in that case doesnt help it.

Bottle (750 ml). Clear straw color with a small white head. Aroma is fresh with too much sugar... notes fruits, belgian yeast and spices. Taste is fresh and sweet (and too sugary), belgian yeast, malt and spices. Mouthfeel is dry and slightly bitter. This beer smell and taste fresh and is a nice experimentation but is way too sugary and not right on style. Should be more drinkable... it’s a Saison.

Eructoblaster (4329) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 27, 2012
Bottle - 750ml. Superb hazy golden body with a thick, lasting white foamy head. Well balanced, fresh malty/hoppy aroma with citrusy, piney, and subtle yeasty hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Its sharp hoppy taste carries malty, citrusy, and coriander notes. Ends with a long bitter/herbal finish. Very well done!
