Pasteurised nitro-keg and nitro-can beer.
May alse be / have been produced at Tadcaster.
"A smooth, creamy ale." Introduced in 1994 as a 4.8% Irish Ale by Bass at Caffrey’s Ulster brewery, and promoted strongly with an advertising campaign of "strong words softly spoken". Interbrew took over in 2000, soften the recipe and attempted to catch the lager market, using a new promotion of "a storm brewing". Coors acquired the brand in 2002. Initially contract brewed by Interbrew for Coors at Ulster, the brand eventually moved to Coor’s Tower Brewery in Tadcaster.
The ABV was reduced from 4.8% to 4.2% in 2001 and, in March 2010, was further reduced to 3.8%. ABV may vary in export markets.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2003 My can (bought in Norway, ABV 4,8%) says 'Premium Irish Beer', but surely this must be more or less the same thing?? An easily drinkable ale, perhaps not all that much character, but good, GOOD (not great). I don't hate nitro cans, but would like to sample this one on tap. (Maybe I have, without noticing....) Rerate: ABV 4.2% version, 440 ml can says "Premium beer" but this is clearly the same stuff, just a little more watery version. Very smooth.

Clear golden beer. Dense white head. Floral hops on aroma. Addotional yeast. Light body. Biscuit, fruity. Light bitterness.

On tap. Comes a clear golden red with a decent white head. Aroma of malt, grain, and grass. Taste is similar. Easy to drink. Pleasant.

Johnsense (1669) - - MAY 31, 2017
Clear amber pour, very large reverse cascade head (Nitro can btw). Not really much aroma or taste, faint malts, creamy, very light fruit and caramel notes. Not much body to speak of, watery finish.

Pint at the Institute, Denby Main. Thick creamy white head. Clear amber pour. Served too cold to taste properly.

On tap with nitro. Pours deep golden with everlasting head. Very slight fruity-biscuits aroma and some biscuity taste with quite watery mouthfeel. Extremely light bodied and softly carbonated and hence easily drinkable. Mediocre.

Easy drinking ale. Malty taste and a little caramel in aroma. Draught is superior to can by a long way. Session ale, to be drank easily whilst imbiding the Craic. Said Craic will include, music, women and dancing.

Draught, pint. Clear amber color with thick creamy white head and soft visible carbonation. Aroma of toffee, grass, flowers and spices. Taste starts with moderate sweet toffee and toasted malt, follows by dried fruity note and herbal, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is mild bitter. Light to medium body, creamy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Rated from the past, one of my first non lagers...

ruigo (2948) - PORTUGAL - AUG 18, 2016
50cl can. Clear light amber colour with a nice white head. Aroma is caramel, malts and nitrogen. Low carbonation and light body. Taste is light sweet with caramel and malty notes. Overall, drinkable.
