6th August 2008. On tap at GBBF. Frothy golden beer - pronounced honey start follows through to a honeyish mid and (wait for it) a honeyish finish. Just a little hoppiness at the end.

Cask (handpump) @ Great British Beer Festival, GBBF 2008, Earls Court, London, England SW5.
Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, fruity notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. (070808)

Cask, third pint, at The Cains Bar, GBBF. Pale, dark golden. Nice lacing on the glass. Light smell of citric hops. Taste of dark caramel with a discreet bitter ending. Contains some hints of sweet raisin. A bit oily in the mouth (07.08.2008).

Cask at Doctor Duncan’s, Liverpool. I think this is my favourite of Cains’ beers. It has a nice rounded fruitiness with apricots, berries, citrus and possible just a hint of tropical fruits and some nice sharp hops in the finish. It’s not a knockout, but it’s not bad at all.

[email protected] Golden colour, small white creamy head, nice lace. Aroma is fruits, hops and mild notes of wheat. Flavour is honey, wheat and some fruityness. Not much aftertaste.

Cask (GBBF 2008) - Golden coloured. Slightly citric and malt aroma. Slightly sweet taste with some lemon notes. It certainly doesn’t taste like it is 5%.

Ethereal (2421) - Los Angeles, California, USA - AUG 9, 2008
Cask at GBBF 08. Mid amber with a declining white head. Sweet with a slight honey tinge to the aroma and taste. Smooth, with the alcohol well-hidden.
