A Gold medal winner in the international brewing industry awards 2000, and a three times bronze medal winner at the Great British Beer Festival in the Best Mild category, this is a smooth, full flavoured, truly dark mild with a rich creamy head. It has a full body and distinctive roasted malt taste, balanced by its fresh hop character. Complex flavours and aromas are achieved by blending deeply roasted malt and adding a selected blend of English hops.

I’ve been working my way through a sixer of cans and haven’t regretted the purchase in the least. The principal character here is how watery and thin the body is, even for style, but that’s overcome by quality of flavor. Nose is sweet with dark roast and a little chocolate, taste much the same with a strain of nuts. Pours deep brown-black with a creamy, dense light brown head. Body, despite the thinness, is ultra-smooth and nearly as creamy as a widgeted nitro offering (it’s not). This is incredibly repeatable, easy-going without childishness.

(can) clear very dark reddish brown with a tall brown head, aromas of toffee, bread, brandy; smooth and mild flavour; very drinkeable

Dark brown pour, black in the glass. The head is a foamy beige ring for the most part. The aroma is chewy toffee, mild roast, slightly oxidized, and a hint of treacle. The flavor is slightly burnt toffee, with a trace of hops and an abrupt, balanced finish. Light yet full on the palate, with very soft carbonation, and a clean back end. Really enjoyed this one.

Black Color, Creamy Head with Long Retention, Good Lacing. Light Chocolate, toasted, light bitter, creamy malt finish. My guess that 3.2% ABV means Mild Ale classification, otherwise I’d put it in Stout style since it resembles Guinness or Murphy’s. Good.

Dark brown colored pour. Slim tan head. Some lacing. Big nutty malt aroma. Some notes of vanilla and molasses. Taste is a nice malty flavor with some nut notes. Sweet finish. Nice beer.

Pours like black coffee with a mild whiff of baked fruitcake, coffee and mocha. The head is very dense and creamy lingering with great length. Full nectar, soft and creamy, blunted flavors leaving behind a bitter wasteland on my tongue. This beer is boderline flavorless with a big rich malt backbone.

hayduke (5677) - Eureka, California, USA - JUN 26, 2013
This 440 ml can was courtesy of Strykzone. Pours a very dark brown with a moderate tan head. Light chocolate in the nose. Medium body. Very light lacing. Flavor is roasted malts, chocolate and a hint of floral hops. Dry finish. Nice tasting and the low alcohol is a bonus.

Big foamy head dark brown. Aroma of soy sauce & chocolate. Tastes roasty wheaty with a little bit of acidic hops on the tail. Dry finish. Highly drinkable.

Slabienkie puszkowe piwo. Z mleczna piana jak na czarnym guinnessie. Barwa podobna, bardzo czarne ale z niewielkim przejasnieniem brazu. Piwo bez gazu, szybko sie utlenia. Wodniste i malo wyraziste.
