TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 3, 2007
Bottle, pours a clear amber with a bubbly off-white head that vanished in a few seconds. A mostly hoppy aroma, with just a touch of a grapes similar to what you might smell in a shiraz. The raisins are a lot stronger in the flavour, though reasonably well balanced with the general fruit hoppiness that is the initial taste. However, there is an over-carbonated mouthfeel which imparts a strong metalic palate in the middle through to a short and unpleasant drying finish. Shame - not for me.

Clear deep golden beer that pours virtually flat and within seconds the white head vanishes. Aroma is hoppy and sweet and the flavour is dry with a deffinate raisiny finish.

Golden with a white head. Sweet caramel aroma, strong and buttery. Fruity taste. More citric than raisin. Little bitterness to finish. Didn’t think I’d like this, but it’s not bad.

500ml brown bottle. Poured a clear amber with strong carbonation & good frothy white head. Forms crop circles when left to settle. Some lacing. Graet malt raisin nose. Pleasant sweet malt biscuit flavour-no raisins.Neutral mouthfeel slightly bitter finish. Llike Cains FA the mouthfeel makes this an easy brew to swig down in large quantities easily tricking you to be fooled by its potency.

Bottle. Golden, amber with a small head. Aromas are toffee malts with sweet, light raisins. brown sugar with some wet, musty grass. Flavours are fruity with raisins. Weetabix malts with hints of citrus. Dry on the finish with a fairly spritzy palate.

bluevegie (3073) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUN 17, 2006
500ml Bottle. Clear pale cola/ light tawny, looking body with not much head at all. Flat tasting, thin body, gritty dried fruit and maple syrup taste nothing flash but I drank it. Slightly harsh malts that I associate with scotch ales.

Golden to amber color. Light aroma, some fruits. Equilibrated, some malt, some sweetness, low bitterness… Nothing special…

from the Fête de la Bière 2005, Lausanne - slightly hazy amber coloured, little irregular foam, solid hoppy nose showing notes of honey, raisin and apple, the whole being supported by a strong aromatic hoppiness,; clean palate with a more than respectable bitterness, the finish end s dry with lingering notes of hops and honey
