(bottled) The concept of a raisin beer is cool , especially in something like an Imperial stout , this is ok for what it is. butterscotch like malt nose , with earthy hops , but im not getting raisins. Its rich and malty , there are some raisin like notes on the palate , but subtle for a beer that has raisins in the name and bottle pic. Its more like when you get raisin flavours in big dark Belgians or Stouts. sfhodense (4788) - Odense NØ, DENMARK - NOV 24, 2011

Beer #28 at Spiesy’s. Mid amber colour. A very soft, fruity beer, although I can’t say I picked out the raisins specifically. Not bad, but not spectacular. 500ml pasteurised bottle from Tesco. BBE 31 December 2004.

Bottle from Sainsburys, Warrington. Very lively pour, with a big off-white head and plenty of carbonation. Prominent raisin aroma with some caramel and spicy hops. Fruity flavour, with more sweetness and a short, bitter finish. The raisin edge became cloying as more of the bottle was drunk. Ok.

Bottle bought within a mile of the brewery. Pours a dull clear amber with slight indigo hue. Raisin aroma, nutmeg?, hops. Thin clear taste with fresh raisin hint (not cloying and thick as feared) something like an iced tea. dry, pippy, slight bitter finish. Pleasant surprise.
