Rich Amber, quite watery, verly light but complex mellow with little sweetness.

Bronze with white halo. Needs some agitation to be roused into any kind of head, and it dies fairly instantly. Smells promising (once it’s de-chilled), with brazen caramel, vanilla pod, creaky tun, chewy raisin, very subtle Goldings-like mustiness creeping up in the background. Flavours of rum-sodden barrel, gnawed pencil, candle wax, caramel, walnut, stale paperiness, butter cookie. What happened to the raisins?

Appearance: Reddish amber in colour, with a creamy head of fine bubbles. Lightly carbonated. Aroma: Sugary malts, with a strong spiciness, possibly cinnamon. The smell of dark fruits is clear, led by raisins. Slightly metallic. There is also a dusty smell, like an old room...yeah, weird, huh? Taste: The flavours are fruity, supported by the strong raisin and grape tastes. There is a mellow sweetness that persists through to the end, which is characterised by subtle fruit sugars, and a faint honey. Mouthfeel: The body is on the heavy side of medium. Quite clingy feel, but smooth texture. Drinkability: This beer seems to evoke a love or hate response, manly due to its irregular flavours. I come down more on the ’love’ side but this is due to the taste. The aromas are not great, and had me expecting something terrible from the taste but I was pleasantly surprised by the rich fruity malts and gentle sweetness. An unusual beer but a good one; try it!

Bottle of 50 cl. Amber with a white head. Aroma of malt, fruit, caramel and small hints of raisin. Flavor with notes of caramel and raisin fruit but felt not. Dry mouth feel and a nice hop bitterness in the end

from Asda, aroma of dark fruits, not sure if raisns. Nice rich copper redish colour clear with no head, medium sweetness, light a bit sharpy bitterness, medium body, soft carbonation, not sure about this beer, average ale from my point of view

bluevegie (3938) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUN 17, 2006
500ml Bottle. Clear pale cola/ light tawny, looking body with not much head at all. Flat tasting, thin body, gritty dried fruit and maple syrup taste nothing flash but I drank it. Slightly harsh malts that I associate with scotch ales.

JayBaxter (406) - Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - NOV 26, 2006
Clear deep golden beer that pours virtually flat and within seconds the white head vanishes. Aroma is hoppy and sweet and the flavour is dry with a deffinate raisiny finish.
