UPDATED: JUN 19, 2015 Bottle. "Great Taste Gold 2010" it says on the label. The first time I had this it was on tap. From memory, it was very very good. The bottle version stands up too. Brownish black and toasty, Black Gold is kind of comforting. One of the better 4.4% level stouts. I’d love to see Cairngorm up the ABV... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone mahkus (136) - Aberdeen, SCOTLAND - FEB 23, 2015

Hyvä tunkkaisuus havaittavissa. Ihan juotavaa on saatu näin pienestä alkoholista huolimatta.

500ml bottle at home.
I really rate this stuff, better on draught as no bottle carbonation but still good all the same.
Almost black stout with a thin tan head, chocolate, coffee, toffee, cocoa, and roasted malts. Glides down the throat. Lush. Rostosto (31) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 12, 2014
Did a food match with this one hop nuts. Cheese on toast with spring onion, spinach and chorizo. Would work better with a deep thick beef stew but held up with the sweet smokiness of the chorizo and salty cheese. Get me! Back to the beer, great Herby sweet aroma that promises more than the flavour. I’ve marked down the typical coffee, chocolate, treacle taste by a measly point due to the aroma fooling you into thinking its a bit more special. Thus, its a bloody good stout that would benefit from a slightly chewer palate. Good un’ init? deanso (10101) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - NOV 24, 2014

Bottle from a Glasgow ASDA. Pours mahogany with a thin cream head. The flavour is roasty with coffee and some smokey notes. Some light spice too. The flavours are pleasant but quite mild and it’s thin bodied. A fairly average stout.
