COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle - Pasteurised.

A Scottish stout with a wonderful rich dark colour. A smooth full bodied beer with subtle bitterness giving way to late sweetness and underlying roast barley hints.

Only ratings of the bottled version should be entered here. The cask version has a separate entry.

Svart med høyt lys brunt skum som legger seg for fort. Lukter kaffe og melkesjokolade. Tynn med lett bitter og søt smak. Medium kullsyre.

Not much of a tasty stout. No aftertaste at all, and thin and flat body. Some nice hints of coffee and "stout", but besides the fact that it’s easy drinkable, this wasn’t much.

mikkopen (1155) - Guelph, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 28, 2014
500 ml bottle. Dark reddish brown colour, tan head. Sweetish roasted malty aroma with chocolate and some fruity and sour notes. Roasted malt, coffee notes and sweet chocolate in the flavour. Tasty.

Dark brown pour tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and cocoa. Flavor is malty, coffee and dark chocolate. Smokey in the finish, hint of tobacco flavor too.

jercraigs (10303) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 18, 2014
2014-07-03. Black body with a modest tan head. 3+ Aroma is relatively modest but fairly roasty. Flavour is similar, dry roast throughout. Smooth average plus bodied palate, soft carbonation. Moderately bitter, dry roasty finish is a bit more roasty than my preference. Bottle at Cairngorm brewery, Aviemore

doradobotella (235) - Madrid, SPAIN - JUN 10, 2014

ReV2 (175) - Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - JUN 3, 2014
Poured reddish black when held to the light. Thin tan head, chocolatey aroma. Slightly thin and oily mouthfeel, toast & nuts, detectable hops on the finish (traditional?), nice & moreish.

uckelman (790) - Durham, ENGLAND - MAY 24, 2014

Rune (12587) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAY 22, 2014
500ml bottle kindly shared by Stefan at a rating session. The body is black as pitch. Tan-coloured head, diminishing to a remaining layer. Loose lacing. Roasted dark malts to the nose with moderate hints of liquorice. Slightly roasted taste with a touch of dried fruits and earth, mid-sweet. Roasted ending as well. Smooth and nice in the mouth, a little thin bodied though (Tårnrommet, Tromsø 15.05.2014).
