DAA; Pours black gold with creamy, fading tan head. Aroma is roasted malty, coffe and chocolate with hint of dried fruits. Taste mirrors, highlighting coffee and roast. Medium body, thin texture. Slight bitter, short finish. jamestulloch (4214) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 27, 2013
Bottle from Waitrose. Black body with a medium tan head. Nice lacing. Aroma of coffee, plain chocolate and raisin. The flavour feels a bit diluted but there are faint notes of chocolate and prune. Thin body with watery, slightly oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. A decent Porter but lacking depth and complexity of flavour. AshtonMcCobb (6774) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 8, 2013
50cl bottle. Opaque black with a decent crema head. The nose has liquorice and charcoal with a decent chocolate/coffee note in the background. The taste has more liquorice, in fact salty liquorice. The palate is medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly clean finish. Overall, good beer. Cunningham (8177) - Halden, NORWAY - SEP 1, 2013

Appearance: Black color with a fine beige head that leaves some lacing.
Aroma: Chocolate, some coffee and a bit sour.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweetness, and a moderate bitterness. Soft to average carbonation.
Taste: Chocolate, some roasted malt and mild coffee.
Overall impression: Ok flavor although a bit sour aroma.
Personal stats: Bottle from Meny Oslo City in Oslo, Norway
A perfect looking stout! Almost black body with just a hint of copper, with a quite large, creamy, light brown head that never reduces beyond a good layer, and lots of foam is left on the glass. The aroma is strong and rosted with mostly coffee, also ash and a fruity backdrop. The taste is not demanding, a light sweetness is followed by a light bitterness. The flavours however are quite strong, with dark roasted coffee, ash, chalk and fruits and berries in the back. The beer feels rather light with a dry texture, the carbonation is moderate, and unfortunately there are some traces of metal in the aftertaste. Even so, this is a wonderful stout that I’d love to have again. Unusually tasty for such a low ABV.

Just about a perfect stout!! Deliciously strong flavoured and balanced. A striking name that promises and the bottle delivers. Owen made candyapple. Cantabrian (1151) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 21, 2013
Not a very nice aroma, staying around the malts, peat and bourbon. Unexpected for a stout. The flavour is much better, with chocolates and vanila, kind of a cremy, slick feel, very benevolent. themightyjag (595) - - AUG 18, 2013
500ml bottle from the brewery.
Big tan head, body is very dark - near enough black. Nose is coffee and tar. Flavours of coal, toffee, chocolate, berries. Rich, creamy mouthfeel with light carbonation. Nothing too complex about this, just a very good stout. Migmar (255) - Espoo, FINLAND - AUG 16, 2013
Black with medium frothy head. Coffee-like, slightly burnt. Light bitterness. A bit watery in the end, but rather pleasant soft stout nevertheless. Tide (4063) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 14, 2013
Bottle at bar. Black color, white head. Bittersweet taste with roasted malts, honey, rum, coffee, nuts and liquorice. Bitter finish with coffee and nuts. Excellent scottish stout.
