Bread, caramel, hints of roasted malts and some herbs. Mahogany with a off white head. Medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Light to medium body with a lively carbonation. Overall a average bitter, but with some character. A bit to carbonated for my taste. Holmen1 (5874) - Stavanger, NORWAY - MAR 6, 2014

Off white lasting head, some lacings, clear amber-copper body. Nice look.
Scents; powerful roasted malts, floral hops, prunes, toffee,
Flavour; roasted malts, fruity hops, chocolate malts, somewhat dry and fruity at the same time.
Nice feel, ok carbonation, not watery.
Finish; dark malts, roasted and chocolate notes, hops play a postludium.
Overall a tasty beer, should go nice with good meat dinners,
or with salty snacks and sausages while watching your favourite football (soccer) team.

w my wife krasunia and her nice baked cutlet dish.
Aroma is earthy, flowers.
Reddish brown with great white head. A small head lasting.
Spicy taste, ginger?, sweet floral notes. Light to moderate bitterness. Finish is bitter and dry. Watery texture. Light carbonation. mikkopen (1164) - Guelph, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 27, 2014
500 ml bottle. Clear coppery colour, creamy off-white head. Caramel-malty aroma with fruits and toasted notes. The flavour is sweetish malty, with toasted notes and a floral hoppy finish. Not bad.

Bottle. Low white but lasting fluffy head. Clear brown body. Honey aroma with spicy notes. Flavor with spicy notes leaving you with a dry mouthfeel. Moderately hopped. Low carbonation and a short aftertaste. Grovlam (4247) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 4, 2008
Small fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Light brownish color. Aroma of butterscotch, floral, toasted malt, caramel, hint of chocolate. Over the palate came light notes of prunes mixed with some floral notes as well. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and light dry texture. Moderated sweet flavor with good counter bitterness. Nice malty caramelize finish. yalnikim (800) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 14, 2009
Tasted 13/01/2008. 500ml bottle from Island Bay New World. A nice russet coloured ale that has a good depth in the malt character with supporting fruit. There’s a lollyish note and some herb in behind. Mildly bitter, low-medium carbonation. The Scots do these non/low hopped beers very nicely. But don’t they do everything well? They certainly produce fine looking men... Maria (10212) - Thisted, DENMARK - JAN 20, 2009
It is dark, amber-red with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of butterscotch, roasted malt, and something a bit herbal/spicy. The flavour has sweetness and notes of roasted malt, butterscotch, herbs/spice (cannot tell them apart) and a nice pepper-bite from the ginger. The finish has a dry bitterness, not quite like anything I tried before, so it probably is from the thistle. larsga (7539) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 3, 2010
Big, beige lasting head. Deep dark red body. Strange meaty floral aroma with roasty toffee notes. Dry-sweetish roasty floral taste with gingery chocolatey notes. Mild, astringent mouthfeel. Light body. Dry milky chocolate and ginger aftertaste with floral notes. Nice hoppiness in the aftertaste. Can’t say I taste any thistle, however that may taste. Decent, but not great.
