A traditional strong “Imperial Pale Ale” beer, that’s light in body and amber in colour. Refreshing tart initial bitterness with subtle malt flavours. The big hopped finish is dry with citrus notes.

Handpump in the bar at Glen Nevis Holidays campsite. Hazy pale gold in colour with a thick white head. I assume it was hazy due to it being WELL chilled. Well hopped, with a subtle malty sweetness. Ok stuff, didn’t need to be that cold tho!

330ml bottle. Slightly hazy orange amber with an off white head. Nose is biscuit and caramel ,orange , grapefruit rind, apricot and passion fruit. Light carbonation, light to medium mouth feel, taste is similar to nose with a really bitter piny finish. Tastes better than some beers I have seen with double the rating just because they are from a big craft brewer. Weird eh !!!

Sample at GBBF 2016, Wednesday. Clear amber beer with a small beige head. Malty fruity aroma, grapes, raisins, some yeast. Fruity malty flavor, raisins, grapes, some hay. Sweet beer.

Sampled @ GBBF Day 2. Clear orange color, medium sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, quite bitter, a slight hint of leaves and caramel. Average to decent body, average caronation. Ok beer.

Gbbf. Fast klare orange goldene Farbe, mittelgroße weiße schaumkrone. Geruch angenehm hopfig, fruchtig, leicht harzig, Aprikosen. Geschmack sehr hopfig bitter, harzig, zitronig, gut!

Pint at some random place in Dundee, pours a clear orange with some creamy, lacing, white head. Nose is not real great, no clue why this is an ESB, it’s a mess, yeast, mild honey, plenty of butter, some orange. Flavor is a buttery mess, buttered biscuit, yeast, dough, mild orange. Creamy finish, which is sadly the best part. Train wreck.

Quite a nice one. IPA in the British style so not that hoppy. Clear and pale with a good head.

330ml bottle. No idea on appearance as drank straight from the bottle. Aroma is hops, grass and slightly chemical. Smooth carbonation, light citrus and hops. Quite weak but decent.

BeerViking (4989) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 28, 2015
Bottle, pours deep brown with a thin head and aromas of fresh grapefruit and toasted demerara. Body is dry citrus and herbal bitterness over burnt caramel.

Cask at SRAF 2010. Pours deep amber, nose is caramel and toffee, light fruit, taste is sweet and fruity.

thmsboyd (201) - Ayr, SCOTLAND - SEP 3, 2015
Bottle BBE: 28 July 2016. Well-chilled. Significant gushing. Pours a copperish chestnut brown body with small-medium, creamy tan head. Low-medium intensity nose, but well-balanced between the hops and malt. Banoffee pie, citrus and spruce, with a hint of cat litter tray in there as well. Medium bitterness dominates a light sweetness, with real roasted character and a touch of oak in there too. Light-medium in body, with quite a dry, woody texture. Carbonation is low-medium and the finish is toasty and lingering. It’s a shame about the gushing, because this is a pretty good beer. It was perhaps over-chilled to fully appreciate the aromas, but it drinks well.
