Malty aroma, maybe roasted. Taste is similar, maybe a watered down wildcat with a hint of heather. TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 17, 2006
Bottle, some carbonation when poured, a deep brown colour with a large fuffy beige head. Strong malty aroma with some hint of chocolate. Very rich on palate and caramal malt flavours. Agree with a lot of comments that it is too thin and has a little acidity. Still enkoyed the initial flavours, shame about the finish. Furseth (2165) - Kungälv, SWEDEN - MAY 30, 2007

Bottle 500ml. @ home.BlackHaddock (7518) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - DEC 30, 2012
[ Trade by cgarvieuk ]. Clear medium to dark amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, burnt caramel, light caramel, smoke notes, light to moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, burnt caramel bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
500ml bottle: best before 28 May 2013. Poured into a UK pint sleeve at home on 30 Dec 2012.
The beer looked good: deep reddy brown body with a full biege head on top.
Malts all the way in this brew: semi-sweet and fairly mild roastiness wise is both the smell and taste. Some hints of peat smokiness try and sneak into the flavours along with dark chocolate and a hand full of mixed nuts (unsalted). Pleasant enough and although a ’tourist-beer’ it was OK.
