Real ale at the Stein Inn, Isle of Skye. Pours a dark caramel/copper with a thin, bubbly head. Aroma has mild notes of caramel, toffee, roast, and traditional grassy/spicy hops. Taste is balanced. Toffee, caramel, slight roast, and some spicy hops to end. Medium body with a low-medium cask carbonation. Clean in the mouth with a big, dry finish. Overall a really tasty cask. Appearance - dark brown to chestnut. Decent head.
Nose - toffee and nuts.
Taste - more praline.
Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish if a little sweet though that is expected from the style.
Overall - yep 80 shilling fairly well nailed.
