Cask at The Sir Walter Scott (JDW), Edinburgh Airport on 20 May. Poured a bright ruby, with a dense white head. Aroma of grains, grass and a little aniseed. Woody flavour, with some chestnut and hay. Finish was peat, dry grain and raisin. welshwizard645 (20) - WALES - OCT 5, 2013
Distinctive aroma, but can’t place it maybe liquorice. Coppery in colour inviting. Dry and malty, palate lends itself to a lazy afternoon rather than a session. Pleasant, but already pondering a different beer. DeanF (2471) - Alberta, CANADA - SEP 15, 2013
Poured from a cask on hand at the Inverness airport. Has no aroma to speak of, eery really. Pours with a perfect head, solid as a rock, and a fine brown-copper body. Flavour is a nice sweet malt and hazelnut flavour with a dry finish. Its very tasty and highly sessionable. ManVsBeer (10806) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - SEP 6, 2013

The head is good, the body brown-red. The taste is a bit barley, malty, a bit fruity-raisin, fruity-hoppy, little bit bitter but more hoppy -> interesting. 11/11/11/12/-/11 mr_h (5752) - Ayr, SCOTLAND - SEP 1, 2012

Chelmsford Winter Fest. Clear dark amber beer. Lightly sour - semi raw malt. A little insipid hop. Struggling with this one.
Cask. Rich rusty brown with a health cream head. Musty malt nose. Mild carbonation. Roasty fruits. Plum, raisins. Decent mid finish with some chocolate twang. Leighton (21879) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 19, 2012
Cask at The Archibald Simpson, JDW, Aberdeen. Pours clear russet with a doamy, light beige head. Lightly toasted malt aroma with hints of caramel. Hello there, nice flavor! Has a nice, roasted toffee character, with some creamy caramel, hints of coffee and cocoa, mild leafy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Sweet, bready finish, lightly bitter, some creamy caramel, hints of ripe fruits, light vanilla, light bitterness. A very decent bitter, this.
