A true gem – rich in color and taste; heavily hopped, but so smooth that even non-hop-heads love this beer!

Very light aroma of caramel and not much else very light body got the style. Finish is very light with not enough hops and a strange iced tea finish.

Like the Wheat, no aroma, and very little flavor. Sampled at the Albany, OR brewpub.

DrinkEmUpJones (1069) - Georgia, USA - MAY 22, 2013
Slightly hazy roasted orange color. A little roasted nuttiness on the nose. Good bitterness on the middle and sides of the palate. Nuttiness comes through on the palate as well. A little of for the style due to the roasted note.

chicowv (478) - Canaan Valley, West Virginia, USA - FEB 23, 2013
Sample tasting at the brewery: Pours cloudy and orange. Arom a is mellow malt with light resinous hops. Taste is malty and bitter. Malt overloads everything else. Kind of plain, a basic amber ale.

troopie (2408) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - MAR 26, 2012
Not heavily hopped. But rich in flavour withal. Coppery body with white head. Malt and hops in proper proportion. Finish lasts a long time.

reebtogi (6341) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 18, 2012
Pale amber color with a finger of thick white head that left some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel malts and citrus and earthy hops. Taste is caramel malty sweetness with some citrus and earthy hop bitterness that lingers nicely on the palate. Medium body and soft carbonation. A very nice bitter that was tasty and enjoyable.

brianprentiss (703) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 20, 2011
I had an IPA right before this so it might have thrown me off a bit, but I was underwhelmed by this one. No depth at all.

Reid (2605) - Salem, Oregon, USA - FEB 18, 2011
Imperial pint in a dimpled mugs at "f/stop Fitzegeralds" bar in Salem. $4.00 Nice copper coloured ale with a off white inch high head that sticks. Good English hop profile for a while then the usual PNW takes over..strong malty caramel. Nice tasty yet balanced beer..gret hop profile balanced by a chewy maltiness. Very nice on the tongue ..complex yet goes smooth. Overall a very drinkable well made PNW ESB..

Hophazard (193) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 18, 2011
Malty graininess on the nose with a tinge of sweetness. A hazy amber glass with a one finger white head. A bit of sweetness starts, eithe rfrom crystal malt or English hops. Finish is dry and clean as expected. Hop flavor emerges on the mid-palate and is medium spicy/floral. Light in body and quaffable. A fine bitter; crispness keeps you coming back for more.
