COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kettle Series. This beer gets its name from the Hopunion Hop Hash nuggets - pure hop lupulin extracted and scraped from the Hopunion pelletizing line, then boiled for 90 minutes in the kettle. According to the brewer, this has never been done before! Premium 2-row, Great Western Munich, Crisp 60L and rolled oats comprise the grain bill designed to carry this load. Fermented warm using American Ale yeast to bring out the fruitiness, the resulting beer is designed to be a surprise on all fronts. Even the brewer has no idea how hoppy it’ll be.

From bottle to pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy orange with moderate and well retained white head. Hop aroma is lacking, with more assertion form sugary bread. Flavor also lacks hops, but bitterness shows the hop additions in a moderately strong manner.

06-MAY-2017, bottle @home, from Fish & Beer. Hazy, dark amber with a lasting, creamy, lacing, off-white head. Aroma is sweet malty and hoppy. Taste is grape fruit, pine, caramel, bread. Very malty, very bitter, sweet. Old school IPA. Very good.

pivnizub (10619) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - DEC 27, 2016
Bottle (One pint, 6 Fl Ozs): Deep golden to light amber coloured, almost clear, very stable creamy and lacy off-white head, visible carbonation; flowery hops, sweet malt, bread and caramel in the almost solid aroma; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, but not really soft; lingering dry herbal to flowery hops and subdued sweet pale malt in the finish. Not the greatest american ale, but surely very good...

12 oz bottle pours amber and clear with an off white head. Aroma is subdued with hints of caramel and lemon. Taste is great! Bitter yet not too bitter. Clean flavor but has a resinous hop mouth feel that is slightly sticky. Solid malt body. Without much aroma this seems like its lacking something. I would drink again. Good but not great.

Brewhemia (313) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 8, 2016
Amber with white head. Light malty notes (bread, caramel) as well as some candy sweetness in the aroma. Not much hoppiness except a little citrus. The taste is quite IPAish though. Not much hop flavor but lots of bitterness towards the finish. Light/medium sweetness. Not completely balanced I think. Too much weight on the bitterness and too little on the aroma and/or malt base, in my opinion.

PorterPounder (7970) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 2, 2016
Portland, Or - Hawthorne Market - 22 oz bomber. Has a bit of a funky feet smelling aroma at first, evens out to a light spruce. Medium copper sparkling pour, nice off-white khaki colored head, Flavor has some pineapple fruitiness, a hint of citrus, some Juicy Fruit gum. Thickish mouthfeel. A bargain at $3.99

Poured from bomber into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a clear amber color with a billowy white head of foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a great level of foamy lacing on the sides of the glass. Smell –The aroma is strongest of a fruity nature with a good deal of tropical fruits as well as a lots of grapefruit and citrus hop and a moderate showing of some herbal hops. Along with these aromas comes some light grassy and hay smells as well. Taste-The taste begins with a nice fruity flavor of tropical fruits with plenty of tangerine, pineapple and mango. Along with these flavors comes a rather strong doughy and caramel flavor creating a very sweet taste overall. While sweet, there is some hop flavors of a grapefruit citrus flavor upfront which are joined by some pine and grassy flavors later on. These flavors grow stronger and stronger as the taste advances, with a slight drying of the sweeter caramel and the doughy tastes, the flavor becomes slightly more cracker in nature, leaving one with a lightly danked, but overall fruity and citrusy taste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the average side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average. For the mix of hop and sweeter flavors combined with the bit of dankness and the dwindling of the sweet as the taste advances, the feel is rather nice and makes for a smoother and easy sipper overall. Overall – A fairly nice and somewhat cleaner, but still slightly maltier, and sweeter, tasting IPA. While anything all that superb, it is certainly worth giving a try to if you get the chance.
