Bottle. A roasted, dark, thick stout. Semi-sweet chocolate, dark malts without much room to breathe out of the thickness but very smooth. Not much need to. Its really good.

SlackerMads (3203) - DENMARK - DEC 11, 2015
Bottle. Black with a large brown head with good retention and lace. Nose has coffee, cocoa, roasted malt, charcoal. Flavour follows; dark chocolate, roasted malt, wood, light chalk, vanilla. I dont know about that liquorice, but its there, I guess. Some flowers, honey and citrus. Medium body, soft on the palate, filling sweetness and firm but not raw bitterness. Long dry finish with dark malts. Easy going.

Thanks to gregwilsonstl for sharing this nice imperial stout. Pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has deep roast, dark chocolate, vanilla and light bourbon. It has a full body with a light amoutnt of carbonation. The flavor starts off with roast, dark fruits, figs, licorice and booze. Thje finish has some dark caramel added and more alcohol warmth. Good.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2015 Not the chocolate and coffee centric beer I was hoping for w a stout, but to be fair, my palate has been killed by hop bombs and a barrel bomb. Thx Ibrew2or3.

Still lace in pour. Chocolate and Black licorice aroma right there. Smooth mouthfeel. Licorice element good drinkability in a sample, or two, but this bomber needs sharing up to 4 ways.Aged for years and not the worse for wear.

Im assuming this is last years batch. This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a black color with a slim fingers off white to tan head. The smell starts off with milk chocolate, big and roasty and sticky sweet, meshing with roasty coffee beans. Subtle marshmallow creeps in to balance. The taste follows the smell nicely. A healthy amount of balanced roasty to sweet stickiness. Sticky sweet cocoa aftertaste runs into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium in body with a nice sessionable feel about it (guessing because of the age, this smoothed out the way it did). Overall, I liked this one for me, and am guessing it probably has more strength when fresh. Still, this was very good for what it was tonight.
