Picked up a bottle from the tap house in Ashland.
Great pour, a finger of tan head on a dark brown body.
The aroma is all chocolate. It smells great though.
The taste is chocolate throughout. There’s a mild bitterness and the chocolate avoids being too sweet. Great balance and complexity.
Smooth texture, low carbonation and medium body.
A really nice porter, especially if you like chocolate.

Pours dark brown, almost black opaque with foamy dissipating light brown head. Malt aroma is rich and takes on toadted toffee, caramel, coffee, milk chocolate, supported with sherry-like gentle alcohol note, burnt sugar & dark fruit esters. Flavour follows aroma: intense malt note, with notes mentioned above, supported with dark fruit esters, fruity, herbal, gentle spicy hop flavours and moderate medium sherry-like alcohol notes. Draught at Mikkeller Bar. Black color, beige head. Bitter taste with roasted malts, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, nuts, a bit of oak, dark fruits and bourbon. Bitter finish with roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits, oak, coffee and nuts. Excellent imperial porter.

December 2016 - Bottle share at One Canada Square. Thanks Kenny! As ’Caldera Mogli’, 8.5%, white wax. Black or very dark brown with a red hue, foamy brown head leaves dotted lacing. Aroma is chocolate syrup, toffee, roasted malts, light ash. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is chocolate syrup and vanilla, rich chocolate. Quite sweet but I don’t think it lacks balance. Level 42 Bottleshare and no Mark King in sight. Almost opaque dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Palate is soft and airy. Soft chocolate malts blend seamlessly with mild spice and dark fruits. Mild oaky vanilla. Smooth finish. Smooth and drinkable.
