Grand tasting at Craft Islington with Hackobock. Opaque black - brown beer, good tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Fluffy and mildly tangy dark malts. Dark chocolate and smooth malts cream. Tangy smooth bourbon soaked fruits. A little vanilla. Airy semi dry finish. Smooth but very drinkable.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Mitchy. Pours black-brown with a frothy, beige head. The nose holds burnt wood, light ash, hints of cocoa, dried berries. Medium sweet flavour with notes of alcohol, dark fruits, berries, rich chocolate, earthy bitterness. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Nose is chocolate, roasted malt, spice, charr, dark fruit rinds.
Taste comprises toffee, chocolate, dark malts, light spice, subtle bourbon, coffee, earthy fruits, molasses.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light rising booze thread.
Solid BA impy, good balance and easy to drink.

The aroma is rich roasted malt, coconut, vanilla, sweet bourbon, pretty filthy, candy and rocky road. The taste is rich roasted malt, earthy roast, toasted pine, cocoa, dried fruits, rocky road, wood, toasted coconut and warming alcohol. Full body and moderate carbonation. UPDATED: AUG 17, 2017 A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with loads of vanilla, bourbon barrel, licorice, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with light coffee notes, vanilla, alcohol warmth, light bourbon barrel notes, light cookie, very nice. 8-3-8-4-15
