Bomber. Rich chocolate aroma with notes of toasted coconut, roasted malt and vanilla. Pours dark brown with a large mocha brown head that has excellent retention and good lacing. Starts with rich chocolate and roasted malt flavors that has a silky smooth mouthfeel and full body. Finishes impeccably smooth with toasted coconut and vanilla flavors. Wonderful porter!

650 ml. bottle says "Drink Fresh, Don’t Age" but has no discernible bottling or best by date. Dark mahogany pour with a thin film of bubbles. Aroma of dark chocolate, vanilla cream and a bit of toasted coconut. Flavors of chocolate, sourish cream, roasted nut and toasted coconut. Almost medium bodied with a smooth, low-medium carbonation. A little sticky at times, but overall a very drinkable balance for such a rich beer.

Really cool porter, smells like a coconut, tastes like a coconut, is in fact beer. Some sweet chocolate malts and a bit of darker chocolate bitter helps balance.

4.2
MelvinKalksma (1537) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 1, 2017

Aroma:
Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, vanilla, chocolate, nuts, bread, roasted malts and coffee.

Appearance:
Turbid/opaque ruby/brown beer with heavy yeast and with a slight/medium beige/brown head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, vanilla, chocolate and nuts; ends slightly bitter and dry with bread, roasted malts and coffee.

Overall:
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Thanks to the coconut being toasted, it has more of a nut flavour than a coconut one to be honest. Does not matter for me, it now tastes like a chocolate bar with nuts; how amazing is that.
