Cask at The Crown Inn, Berkshire. As "Edinburgh Castle". Aroma is malty, caramel, lots of toffee, a bit buttery. Flavour is almost moderate sweet and light bitter. Body is light to medium. Quite dull malty toffee ale, not for me.

Cask. Under the name Edinburgh Castle. Aroma of roasted malts and stone fruits. Chestnut brown with white foam head. Tastes earthy, malty and rich with a pleasantly refreshing aeration and cereal finish. I’m glad to get some more Caledonian beers down in Nottingham since only a few places keep Deuchars IPA and the bitter and stout are equally session worthy.

Fra cask på Olde White Harte Hull 26 Nov 11 som "Edinburgh Castle". Dyp mørk amber. Lavt tett skum. Forsiktig maltaroma. Smaken lett maltig. Karamell & papp. Tørr avslutning. Et bra øl med gjennomført maltpreg.

Sampled on draught at Alexandra Palace. Tawny colour with thin white head. Little aroma, but quite a full, malty taste. Some fruity hippiness, but this sample was on the turn and was a little sour.

Cask at the Bothy, Murrayfield. Pours clear gold with a thin white head. Aromas of malt, cereal, grains, faint lemon. Taste is more of the same, light astringency. Sweet, thin finish

redders1974 (1550) - Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - FEB 14, 2015
Pillowy head not long lasting Christmas pudding aroma and ataste of sugary brandy quite sweet and complex tastes stronger than it reads on cask in the Oxford Rochdale.

Renobob (2064) - Besançon, FRANCE - JAN 9, 2015
Bitter anglaise très classique. Moyennement corpulente et à peine effervescente ce qui ne gâche rien. Touche d'écorce d'orange. Très légère.

Rob_D_UK (1369) - Madrid, SPAIN - DEC 27, 2014
Amber with a thin but lasting head. Mild but decent, hints of caramel, slightly prickly bitterness, watery texture.

Stuu666 (14224) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 19, 2014
