BeerCast_Rich (1906) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 8, 2013
[cask at the Caledonian Brewery, Edinburgh] Clear deep mahogany brown, decent white head. Aroma of sweet toffee, caramel, burnt sugar. The initial taste is very similar, before a sweet, malty flavour appears before the finish [31012013]

gowdy (1115) - Erskine, SCOTLAND - FEB 7, 2013
Pint at the Horse Shoe in Glasgow. Minimal white head. An amber hue. Not gassy. A nice one.

zimbo (963) - SCOTLAND - DEC 2, 2012
Clear dark copper brown with a rich head which goes the distance. Truly smooth and slightly fat and rather ricj on the tongue. Fair amount of treacly malt with elements of pear. Vinous, morish with some richness. ends that way too. Of all the older cask Scottish beers this one has changed the least over the years.

JOHNS17 (21) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - OCT 10, 2012
Cask Osprey Glasgow. With a dearth of anything any more inviting, I ordered my first pint of Caley 80/- for more than 5 years. If anything it was more unremarkable than the preceeding scoop. Just what Caledonian (Heineken) think they are contributing to the resurgent ale market is beyond this reviewer They constantly churn out "new" brews which. quite frankly taste like each other so much it. is impossible to tell them apart. could someone please just tell the. Head Brewer that beer should contain hops ? Any micro-brewer would give their right arm to get their remaining one on the brewing facilities at Caley.

Mahogany brown colour. Has a full malty flavour, good body and a rich mouthfeel.

Sledutah (7725) - Utah, USA - SEP 5, 2012
Cask in London
Appearance: Clear dark amber with a small off-white head and some lacing
Aroma and taste: Bitter, bready, chocolate with a sour, dry finish

Beesbeer (452) - WALES - SEP 2, 2012
Palatable but disappointing. Bland stuff. No real flavours. Nice colour and light texture.

sic1314 (4775) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - SEP 1, 2012
Overly caramelised these days, and a shadow of the beer it was 20 odd years ago. Pours brown and clear, aroma is unbalanced caramel and malt. Dry slightly astringent aftertaste.

mr_h (5641) - Ayr, SCOTLAND - AUG 2, 2012
Cask by handpump at State Bar, Glasgow - clear brown ale, thin tan head, malty aroma, high carbonation, thin to medium body, caramel, good temperature

kwik-lime (1968) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 7, 2012
Dark and malty, very smooth but a touch watery in the palate. Drinkable but not that satisfying.
