Beese (2776) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 16, 2014
Cask at The Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 27 Mar 2012. Poured a very dark ruby, with a dense off white head. Aroma of cappuccino, chocolate and dark malt. Coffee in the flavour, with burnt sugar and toasted malt. Fairly full mouthfeel. Finish was treacle, cocoa and some light hop bitterness.

Stuu666 (13435) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 19, 2014
Cask at the Standing Order. Pours black, nose is toffee, caramel, taste is roast malts, toffee.

john44 (3101) - SW London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 21, 2014
Cask – JDW Fest Spring 2012 - Dark Reddish Brown in colour. Malty; coffee, chocolate, roasty malts, some caramel. No fruit. Hoppy; grassy hops. Sour slightly bitter throughout. Drinkable.

SilkTork (5738) - Southampton, United Kingdom, Hampshire, ENGLAND - NOV 4, 2013
Spring, 2012. JDW, Whitstable - Peter Cushing. Greasy dark beer - rather like a dark lager. Sweet caramel with tree bark bitterness.

RichTheVillan (7856) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - OCT 19, 2012
Retro reviews from Spring 2012 Wetherspoons Beer festival; brown pour only a mild about of coffee and quite watery in mouth feel.

WeissGary (286) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - JUN 19, 2012
Guest tap. Pale-ish black body, thin foamy yellow head, soft tasting, small hints of coffee... not particularly strong. This is a sessionable beer, it’s ok to drink but there isn’t much going on.

theatmosphere (50) - York, North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 13, 2012
This is pretty good, but could do with just a hint more coffee. Everything about this beer is very subtle, perhaps a tad too subtle. It’s easy to drink though and I enjoy having it occasionally.

ManVsBeer (10485) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 31, 2012
Mild tasting porter with a good nose, but only the slightest of coffee tastes.

jaghana (6073) - Strasbourg (Alsace), FRANCE - MAY 27, 2012
On tap @Edinburgh airport, a dark amber beer with small creamy head. Nose is on roasted grain and coffee. Aroma is expresso like long roasted and chocolate note. Some relative sourness which grows on aftertaste.

stravale (3065) - Co. Westmeath, IRELAND - MAY 21, 2012
Cask @ Bennet’s Bar, Morningside, Edinburgh 160512
Chestnut brown, clear, frothy off white head, good lacing.
Aroma - dark caramel malts, soft coffee, bit of chocolate, no caley ’Deuchars’ malts
Taste - Dark caramel malts, soft light coffee, slight touch of Camp essence, touch of the caley malts but not that noticeable, some soft fruity malts, touch of bitter earthy hops
Palate - soft carb, thin to medium body. Finish as main flavour, slight touch of bitter metal
Overall - One of the better beers from Caledonian
