Pours clear amber with a smallish head. Malty aroma with fruity notes and even a hint of caramel. Taste sweetish too with malt and bread, but it finishes with moderate bitterness. Too sweet brew for me. (500ml bottle, bb 31.08.16) TorbenJensen (1539) - Valby, DENMARK - AUG 1, 2015
As bitter ale it’s not exactly what one expects. There are fine foaming and it has a good flavor of both hops, malt and some fruit. The flavor is as such also in order, but in my opinion lacks a little more ferocity in the form of a little more crispness and bitterness. beeebon (468) - Cornwall, ENGLAND - JUN 25, 2015
Pours a golden copper colour with small white head which doesn’t last. Aroma is buttery, sweet malt and lightly grassy hops. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter and rather bland. Drinkable but nothing special and rather watery harrisoni (19024) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JUN 23, 2015
Bottle from Waitrose and drunk at home. Clear amber lasting off white head. Some malt and some earthy hop on the aroma. Some toffee in the mouth. Some hop on the finish. It’s a pretty decent bitter. Bit of yeast character. Well balanced and pretty drinkable. overtheline (137) - Inverness, SCOTLAND - MAY 31, 2015
500ml bottle pours a light copper with a small white head that soon dissipates to cap. Nose is some bread dough, some earthy roast nuts and some toffee. Taste is similar earthy with sweet malt evident. Thin mouth feel, medium low carbonation. Some hop bitterness on the finish but not bag loads by any stretch, earthy roast nutty notes continue on the finish. A bit more subdued than I had remembered.
