Cask HP at The Crosse Keys Bishopsgate as Caledonian Golden XPA. Pale amber, still and clear with a small foamy tan head. Aroma is musty, wort, carpet, muddled malt sugars, light honey. Body is smooth with light carbonation. Taste is sugary malt, some hobnob, little resinous hops but not really bitter at all. Drinks fine to me.

Pint from the cavendish Arms in Cartmel, Cumbria. Lemon on the nose, some floral notes. Expected more flavour, tastes like a session ale, drinkable enough but expected more from its XPA status.

Golden beer, white head, sweet citrusy hop, a dash of malt and a slightly creamy feel to it. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with it but nor would I be rushing back for another. Its just a standard, pleasant enough golden ale.

Hippoman (646) - Durham, ENGLAND - APR 11, 2016
Cask at The John Duck, Durham, 2.75/pint. Golden-amber beer with a fair-sized, off-white head. The aroma is sweetish and fruity. Theres much of the same in the taste which has some light floral hop and the pretty sweet yeast character that seems common to all Caledonian beers. There are also some grainy cereal tones and biscuity malts that lead into a mid-dry finish. Perfectly drinkable but dull really.

Draft at GBBF 2013, day 4 - London. Pours perfectly clear, bright gold with a fine, creamy white head. Lightly tangy lemon in the aroma, some hay. Light sweet flavor with moderate citrus tang, slight pale bread, straw. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, with more subtly tangy lemon, mellow pale bready malts, kisses of bitter straw. A nice enough golden ale.
