COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Trustworthy, an ale of character. Nice hints of coffee, chocolate, caramel and raw tobacco. Complex and compelling, yet straight forward, easy to love. A friend to the end...Period.

Draft pours brown with a tan head. Aroma of malt, sweet, and spice. Taste of caramel malt, yeast and a hint of spice.

oobawa (1301) - Tennessee, USA - MAY 15, 2017
Decent nose, caramel with a slight yeasty apple back. Pour’s okay, a copper-gold with a slight head and light lacing. Taste never quite takes off, though, with hints of caramel and biscuit, yet with homebrew-ish pungent malt undercurrent, one that kinda keeps the pint from being enjoyable. Finishes mildly sweet, caramel and wet grain on the fade. Not good.

jbruner (4688) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - APR 14, 2017
Pours a hazy brown on tap with bubbly tan head that leaves light lace. Aroma of mild banana and spice notes over caramel malt. Taste is slice and nuttiness with an earthy ending. Creamy, but weird.

JStax (6345) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - NOV 8, 2015
Draft sample. Hazy copper color with a beige head. Good retention. I get moderate caramel notes and some nutty toffee. Moderate sweetness and mild bitterness. Medium body and medium carbonation.

PorterPounder (7886) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUL 23, 2015
Nashville, Tn. - on tap at Craft Brewed. Mysterious, murky dark brown light off- white head, very light lace. Neutral aroma, touch of wort. Light chocolate, earthy, hint of molasses, hint of brown sugar. Smooth mouthfeel.

On tap. Dark brown color. Caramel malts, lighter body, sweeter, grainy, slightly strangely bubbly. Very sessionable brown. I liked it.

Keg at the Beer Sellar, Nashville, listed as ’James Henry Walker’ 15/02/15. Chestnut brown with a decent light beige covering. Nose is biscuit, straw, toffee, vanilla. Taste comprises caramel, malty backbone, nutty, biscuit, light fruit rinse. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, semi drying close. So so affair, just a badly constructed brown ale.

3.5
Travlr (24262) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - NOV 19, 2014
Draft at Craft Brewed. Clear amber color, tan head. Aroma of light caramel. Taste has toasted caramel. Decent body for a mild.

Good mouth feel for a mild. Sweet nice mouthfeel. But almost like home brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nashville draft passing through on spring break. Interesting banana notes in the aroma that carries into the flavor with some caramel too. Tasty for a mild.

nearbeer (5362) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 1, 2013
Couple of pints on tap. Clear copper-brown with a lasting ring of creamy bubbles. Mild aroma of dark caramel, dry grass and maybe some light citrus. Taste is also mild but develops into raisin, toffee, lightly tart cherry and a touch of mocha on the finish. Near-medium body is well balanced and smoothly carbonated with only a small but nice tongue tingle on the finish.
