chinchill (5069) - South Carolina, USA - NOV 26, 2016
On tap at Sigler’s in Tennessee. Decent looking with a black-brown body and a creamy tan head that eventually reduces to a ring and leaves rather full lacing. Unusual sweet aroma. Lightly sweet up front but goo bitter-sweet balance. Lightly spicy. Smooth medium body. Medium-light carbonation.

SpringsLicker (3644) - Tennessee, USA - OCT 31, 2015
Black with a thin tan head. Aroma of roast malt and resiny citrus. The flavor is a hoppy thin stout. Most Black IPAs are thin hoppy stouts.

Keg at Hops & Craft, Nashville, 15/02/15. Hazed chestnut brown with a big old tan covering. Nose is charr, dark berry fruits, earthy hops. Taste comprises pine, roasty notes, spice, toffee, pine, grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enogh CDA.

shadey (2140) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - APR 20, 2014
On tap at East Nashville Beer Festival 2014. This was double dry-hopped for this offering. Muddy brown color. Flavors seem muddled to me. The hop aroma and flavor are present, but nothing seems bright or fresh - kinda disappointing for such a hyped brewery.

3.5
nearbeer (5452) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 2, 2014
Pint on tap. Murky dark brown with a lasting disc of creamy bubbles. Nose is a tame mix of resin, citrus and light mocha. Flavor is bolder with a front of citrus and resin mixed with toffee, oxidized apple and mild roast. Finish has some mild char, wheat and molasses notes. Near-medium body has a nice balance and mild astringency. Medium carbonation is mostly smooth.

mojoman (158) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 12, 2014
Tap at ML rose west: doesn't really stand out for a bipa. Not a whole lot of character. Does have pleasant aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rustyham (1836) - St. Petersburg, Florida, USA - AUG 27, 2013
Sweet purple grape flavor, slightly smoky, roasty body. Would not call this a black IPA at all, more like an amerocam dark ale

3.3
jbrana (640) - NASHVILLE, Tennessee, USA - JUN 24, 2013
Kind of a whatever beer that is still nice, light, and refreshing. Tastes yeasty with a nice malt sweetness and a light hoppy presence that is mildly citrusy and slightly metallic. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

edgallow (4211) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 1, 2013
16 oz draft pours black with a off white head. Aroma of malts, citrus and a hint of pine. Taste is malts and citrus.
