Pours a half finger of head on a dark brown body.
The aroma is dry cocoa, roasted malt and wood.
The taste is burnt wood, chocolate, milk, and pine bitter at the end.
The texture is crisp and thick.
Tasty and enjoyable. Ontape (471) - Valley Village, California, USA - FEB 14, 2015
Draft. Pours a murky dark brown, little tan head. Aroma is chocolate tootsie pop first and foremost. As you sip, some oak and pine characteristics join in. Somewhere in between an IPA and a porter with vinuous character from the oak. Lots of semi-sweet chocolate on the finish. I like it. gnoff (10713) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 5, 2015
22 fl oz bottle thanks to deft! Sampled on December 31, 2014.Strykzone (7490) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - NOV 19, 2014
Clear dark reddish brown color, small teal head. Sweet, fruity, oats scent. Sweet, fruity, toasted taste. Grainy aftertaste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.
Bomber from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Dark brown but with more amber than would be seen in a stout. A nice tan head that lasts. A really nice aroma is both pleasant and interesting. Cocoa and vanilla are in front. Those are also tasted. Citrus hops, too. This is kind of a robust porter / brown ale combination. Earth, dark and more bitter chocolate, and even a little bit of spice. A nutty finish was a pleasant surprise. This beer has a great way of moving flavors in and out. From oak to cocoa to citrus, etc. There is just so much going on in this beer and so many of those flavors are really nice. Feel is smooth and rich. This is like brown meets porter meets black IPA. hayduke (5575) - Eureka, California, USA - NOV 19, 2014
The bomber was shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat, Pours a dark brown with a foamy tan head and moderate lacing. Nose is chocolate and coffee. Medium body. VEry smooth mouthfeel. Some citrus appears in aroma, Flavor is very complex with oak, earth, and citrus showing up over the chocolate/coffee base. The finish is coffee bitter and dry with vanilla. Spice and nuts appear late. A very complex flavored beer overall with a lot to like here.

"Not your traditional brown ale" - I daresay, this is more like a coffee porter. Pours dark brown with massive head. Burnt coffee aroma. Coffee, malts, caramel sugar gives way to a burnt flavour in the back of my mouth. Very forward. Interesting, but somewhat unbalanced. tightslice (1383) - Redwood City, California, USA - SEP 20, 2014
On tap at Flavor in Half Moon Bay, CA. Pours a brown cola. Aroma is caramel, roasted malts. Taste is dry malts. @badhack wrote "Non descript, but inoffensive hazy brown ale." I agree. badhack (564) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUL 24, 2014
