COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
What happens when beer wanders off the trail into wine? It heads into a whole new brewing wilderness we call Sparkling Ale. Wit and sauvignon blanc yeasts add surprising complexity. California wildflower honey, orange zest, coriander and poppy seeds infuse citrus notes and a hint of spice. Wild Wit is both beer and wine and something new altogether. Brewed with Valencia Orange, Meyer Lemon, Coriander & Poppy Seeds.

Bottle from Berkeley Bowl. Pours cloudy blonde with a nice white head and a yeasty aroma. There is an effervescent sweet wheat flavor that is fruity with lots of spices, perhaps too many. There is an essence of fermented honey that lingers on the palate.

Bottle - tasting @ Willows Market. Pours hazy golden with a medium white head and nice lacing. Aroma is wheat, lemon, bit o funk, some spices. Flavor is light sweet, honey, interesting. Spices are quite light leaving just notes of their presence rather than beating you over the head. Light body and very champagnelike carbonation. Interesting beer.

This light gold beer has a very mild aroma. It has a smooth pleasing flavor. The yeast from wine gives it subtle white wine taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Amber beer with a big off-white head. Lemon and orange aroma with light spice. Wheat and citrus flavor with light spice. Medium bodied. Wheat and citrus lingers with light spice and light floral notes.

Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. Pours gold with a creamy white head. Aroma is somewhat citrus and a touch yeasty. Med body with foamy carb. Flavor is zest, yeast, herb. Sort of a strongly flavored saison? Not a standard wit. Seems to be light on fruit esters. Very good body and flavors though. Really good taste!

500ml bottle, purchased at BeerCraft. Hazy golden color with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma shows lemon juice and pear notes; pretty muted given the ingredient list. Medium bodied, with a spritzy carbonation, lemony tartness, and firm pepper, clove-like bitterness; a solid beer, but underwhelming. Lasting clove and Pils-malt toastiness in finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500 ml. bottle purchased at Bevmo… haven’t seen this one anywhere else. Weird. It pours a nice bright yellowish gold color with a white head. The aroma is really nice and true to the description with notes of white wine, orange, grapes, coriander and spice. The flavor is frothy in the mouth with more grape skin, orange, heavy coriander, some doughy malt and a good dry, crisp, spicy finish. Interesting beer. Crisp and refreshing but maybe a tad on the spicy and over carbed sided of things. Still, I enjoyed it based on the accurate description of a wine/witbier hybrid.
