This hand-crafted pilsner is brewed with the finest lager malts to yield a beer that’s golden in color and medium in body. A delicate blend of Czechoslovakian Saaz and Tettanger hops is used to produce a truly smooth, well-balanced beer with a clean, crisp finish. Our specialty brewer’s yeast contributes to its light and frothy head.

DruncanVeasey (8283) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - SEP 11, 2012
Pre-volcanic bath pint (NOT recommended) at the bar of the Calistoga Inn, 14/08/12. Brassy, conditioned gold topped with white. Sappy, herbal, mown grass aroma. Bready, shrubby and nuanced with a lipsmacking drying bitterness accompanied by a shave of pith and orange. Fizzy but it suits. Curd on crackers. VERY pilsener-ish. "Awesome!"

Lubiere (14151) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 2, 2009
A hazy golden pils with almost no head. In aroma, light mineral hops. In mouth, a very mineral pils, with a light crisp malt, of bit of german hops, run of the mill. Light to medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, August 17, 2009.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2013 Draft at the brewpub. Pale gold color with a slight white head. Light grassy aroma. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Flavor is pale malt and grassy hop. Finishes a bit grainy, but the hop is very nice. It laced a tad.

heemer77 (5360) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JAN 2, 2009
Tap at the brewpub. The body was bright gold with a slight haze and a thick head. The aroma was soapy with some flowers and potato. The taste was sweet potatoes with some light hints of apple core. Drinkable but with a vegetable finish.

aspidites (1271) - manteca, California, USA - NOV 22, 2007
Grassy nose with an overly soft mouthfeel and mild grain astringency. Diacetyl and dms on the palate with grainy finish.

Draught, Calistoga Inn. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (cookie, caramel), lightly hoppy (flowers, apricot), with notes of peach, diacetyl, and corn syrup. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Not very pilsner-ish.

YogiBeera (2569) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 9, 2006
At the brewpub: Golden color, lemon nose. Light hay taste- short lasting. Not exciting.

AleDrinker (1089) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - FEB 9, 2006
Very clean pilsner- to both the nose and the tongue. Fuller bodied than most that I’ve tried, smooth on the tongue. Enough malty flavor that I would order it again.
