huineman (740) - Madrid, SPAIN - AUG 16, 2017
33 cl bottle served in white wine glass. Hazy golden pour with a clear white ephemerous head. Aroma is medium to high: roses, cardamom, porridge. Taste is light, watery, nice carb. Fresh, no bitterness. Does not linger for long. I do prefer the black one.

33cl-fles gekregen van schoonbroer Hendrik. Merci! U: Licht wazig blond met een witte schuimkraag. G: Oude honing, gist en bleekmout. S: Moutzoet met een zeer licht bittertje. Gist, hooi en een waterachtige afdronk. M: Weinig body en medium carbonatie.

33cl bottle shared at home. Pale golden with a medium white head. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Subtle bitter and sweet tones. Malts, caramel, straw and yeast. Mediocre brew.

33cl bottle from a Co-Op in Geneva. A plain and rather tasteless pilsner style lager. Nothing actually bad about it, but nothing good either.

Bottle. Hazy orange color with white head. Aroma is grainy-malty, slightly yeasty and earthy, a bit herbal. Taste is grains, cardboard yeasts, light citrus, grassy, herbal hops. Medium carbonation.

Clear golden color with foam layer. Fresh malty nose. The taste is light and malty (but without wet foulish parts one finds sometimes in lagers). Quite refreshing for a lager. Average carbonation and a fresh malty aftertaste.

This beer is really close or is the same than the Quöllfrish from Appenzeller, because they make this beer in Appenzell, it is just my opinion, I could be wrong. The body is yellow clear, average carbonation, thin white foam. The taste is a bit metalic, watery but it is ok: malt, some hop and a touch of sweetness. I drank it in Plainpalais, in a bar from the tap, perfect to start a night.

On pour a lovely looking beer appears, golden yellow colour, with a big frothy creamy head, that looks good, but which dies a little, the colour changes too, gets a bit murky and cloudy by the end which doesn’t look great to be honest A nice aroma, faint but has a good beery smell, smells of citrus, bready malts and earthy hops. Taste was a little hard for me to describe , wasn’t strong, was malty and deep tasting. Bitter aftertaste, hoppy and earthy, with a long finish. Crisp and good in the mouth. Was drinkable for sure with light flavours, not bad, could be a session beer, but nothing to write home about either, and, dare I say it, a little boring, but drinkable all the same.
