COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
4. Post Tenebras Dignitas

Bottle. Pours hazy very dark with airy but stable light head. Clear aroma of fruit and chocolate, with notes of malt and yeast. Roasty flavour with pronounved notes of lactose and chocolate and touches of yeast and hops. Roasty and malty afteraste. Rather sweet for the style but nice.

I bought this bottle in one shop, close to the Migros, in Geneva Airport. I drank it at Bonfol during the afternoon of Sunday. In my opinion, this beer is really close to the schwarz kristall of Appenzeller, because they make the beer for calvinus, the only difference is the degree of alcool lower in the calvinus. The taste is really similar, even though it is a good beer. The color is a deep black, nice white and brown foam, a lot of depot of yeast. You have roasted malt, few coffee, there is a really nice touch of nuts, sweet, some hop, it is well balanced and regular carbonation, a good one.

At the Geneva airport. Smell of toffee/peanutbrittle, taste of toffee and butterscotch and some tartness in the finish. I like the label design.

Comes in a nice old-style bottle with a large plastic cap. Smells delicious, with coffee and oatmeal aromas. Nice rich, bitter taste with combination of oats, chocolate, and coffee. Perfect winter beer.

330ml bottle at La Clémence on Place du Bourg-de-Four. Very dark brown pour with a bit of light to mid-brown head. Molasses, corn syrup, sarsaparilla aroma. Sweet smoky taste: more molasses and corn syrup. Tasty although it has a bit too much of a burnt malty aftertaste (reminds me a bit of Dragon Stout in this regard). Full body. A lovely beer.

Black color and tall brown head. Very nice roasted malty aroma. Taste is bitter and a bit sweet. Palate with full body and long finish. Great Swiss Porter!

Bottle from Bignens Vins, Balexert. Poured quite dark black, white head. Quite a European dark beer I thought, not much bitterness from the dark malts. Warming hint from alcohol, slightly sweet. Nice chocolate and spicy flavours. Nice.

330ml capped bottle served in an ordinary glass. A: Pours a dark brown color forming a one to two fingers bubbled tan head. Good retention and few spotty lacings left in the glass S: Rich roasted malts in the nose, giving a strong sensation of chocolate. Notes of dark fruits. A bit biscuity and earthy T: Slightly sweet upfront. Notes of dark chocolate, roasted malts, chocolate biscuits and black fruits M: Light body and medium carbonation. Slightly sweet and roasted aftertaste O: Good drinkability. Easy drinking [ BA Review @ 7/22/2013 ]
