Simply sour cherry nose. Ciderish appearance. Sour cherry with a balsamic finish...would make a nice salad dressing :) Really great tasting, just not so much for beer.
Notes: Beer Advocate Belgian Beer Fest ’09
EBF 2017. Pours a pretty clear amber with a bubbly rim that leaves no lacing. Nose is of cherries, vinegar and slight roasted malt. It all feels just like a pretty nice Flanders red to me, really. Taste is more vinegar/Flanders oriented than cherries but the fruits are still there somewhere. Body is light to medium, carbonation moderate. A pretty cool cherry sour. czar (9085) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 22, 2017
on tap at extreme beer fest 2017, boston. clear copper-orange pour with a small light beige cap offering some retention and lacing. lots of cinnamon and cloves, acetic cherries - or maraschinos in vinegar; sharp acidity, herbal grassiness. moderate carbonation, light to medium body, potent citric-herbal finish. obvious cherries with a flora indeed - ends up like lots of crazy fruit american sours. Very dark mahogany color on the very of dark brown, but has red tinges. Smells like cranberry and raspberry juice that my gandmother gave me as a kid, with faint green apples. Lots of oak, green apples and cherries in the mouth. Moderately acidic. Nice lingering oaky finish. Pretty decent stuff but doesn’t go anywhere super special. williamstome (1876) - Somerville, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 21, 2014
Cerise casee is French for "popped cherry", and this would be a hell of a way for one to lose their s (sour) - card. Mahogany pour, aroma of tart cherries and vinegar. Intense cherry flavor with notes of chocolate. Highly acidic, like drinking a sweet and flavorful vinegar. Almost. Delicious, but a bit much. Kavu (4795) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 1, 2014
5 fl. oz. on tap @ CBC. Pours clear ruby red with no head. Aroma is sour malts with loads of cherries. Flavor is sour malts, cherries and some fermented berries. Really good. Steve_0 (3745) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 12, 2014
Pour from bottle at What the Funk!? 2014. Appearance is slightly hazy amber with a frothy cream-colored head and great lacing. Big vinegar, green apple, oak, tannic, ripe cherry skin, and grape in the aroma. Taste is cheesy, waxy, oaky, orange juice, lactic, and vanilla with a huge sour finish. Way too sour and acidic. Slick mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Way too many off-flavors and aromas to be enjoyable. cubs (10635) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - APR 11, 2014
Bottle @ What the Funk Denver 2014. Dark orangish brown appearance with a tan head. Black cherries, caramel, oak, and tannins in the nose. Fairly funky and tart flavor. Quite a bit of vinegar / acetic acid on the finish. Decent cherry flavor but kind of hard to drink. I didn’t enjoy this one as much as some of the others I was drinking with during WTF.
