While picking this up the clerk at the store compared it to Jackie O’s autumnal seasonal. Personally I would much rather have some Barking Pumpkin. The promise of a solid fall release dissolves over the course of a pint until you wonder what happened to the rest of the recipe. Perhaps the time of the pumpkin seasonal is not here yet.
Aroma / Appearance - A warm walnut base retains an orange hue. Paired with the creamy vanilla head it looks like dying embers in a fire pit. Pumpkin pie, whipped cream, and other sweet aspects pin this firmly in the "dessert" end of the seasonal spectrum.
Flavor / Palate - A carbonated mouthfeel bounces around the mouth with a changing profile of squash, vanilla, ice cream, and cool crust. The light body may be due to the low ABV. Even so it fades so quickly that you wonder if there should be more. Future sips do little to add complexity. Overall this promising beer falls short of being a repeat purchase.
22 oz bottle. Pours hazy amber orange with a medium fizzy creamy head that goes to a thin film that leaves a little lacing.jackl (8417) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - OCT 29, 2014
The aroma is sweet malts and cinnamon.
The flavor is sweet sugary malts, some vegetal notes and cinnamon. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and a bit watery.
Overall, a bland pumpkin, and very restrained.
Keg @ CBC. Light amber with a small head. Nose is sort of what you’d expect. All spice, cinnamon, caramel, nutmeg. General spice rack. Not a lot of room for nuance. Flavor is welcoming lt dry. Dried pumpernickel bread. Hot cinnamon. A bit peppery. Leaf pile. Medium body, soft carbonation. Nice.

Bomber. Mild spice aroma with notes of nutmeg and cinnamon and a bit of pumpkin. Pours amber colored with a half a finger of off white head and some lacing. Starts with bright pumpkin sweetness with the aforementioned spices mixed in a little. Finishes finishes smooth with the spices taking over a bit more with the pumpkin fading to the background. Good, light bodied pumpkin ale. rondphoto (4494) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - OCT 24, 2014
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY -- Hazy medium amber, solid off-white head cover, streaks of lace. Taste is malt and pumpkin pie; all turns a little bitter (and a little sour) in a medium finish. Decent, unique, definite pumpkin, but not exactly appealing, and not for regular consumption. Travlr (26065) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - OCT 23, 2014
Draft at Track 84. Hazy golden color, thin white head. Aroma of nutmeg and cinnamon. Taste has just enough spice. Nice. BeerandBlues2 (13806) - Escondido, California, USA - OCT 23, 2014
